What candy doesn't get it's props? Reese's, Twix, Sinckers all are big time. But things like Smarties, Necco wafers, etc.

What do you like which others leave until Thanksgiving to finish off?

All those listed above are gross.  Sorry  Although I do really like the sour-smarties but those are hard to come by

Maybe it's a regional thing, but Necco wafers are a prized Halloween rarity around here, bring back childhood memories.

I love Smarties! They're hard to find in the gigantic pile of other stuff.

Novartis' main drug research facility is in the legacy Necco wafer factory. They sell the wafers and Boston Baked Beans in the coffee shop along side the OTC consumer goods they make.

You can't trust candy corn because people put razor blades in them and then the kids eat them and die..... Read about it on the internet....

My wife did a bathroom Halloween decoration by putting a large candle surrounded by candy corn. My kids keep eating the candy corn.

Double gross

Believe it or not, I liked those "circus peanuts".  I can't even describe them well.  They were a pale orange-ish color, a consistancy between a candy corn and a marshmallow and the taste is truely undescribable.

Oh and Pixie Sticks.

We've got a NECCO wafer factory about three miles down the road here, so they can't be too regional.

They are in just about every 7-11 I have seen.  Just sort of hidden away.  Bottom shelf, with all the other misc. candies.

Necco Wafers rock!!  Also, if kept dry, they last forever.  Sorta like the Hardtack of the candy world.

I also put one in for those pumpkin-shaped candies that are made from the same stuff as candy corn.  Basically 3x candycorns!!!

Teejaay - 2012-10-31 8:43 AM The Jolly Rancher is an under appreciated candy ... sure it sticks to and/or breaks your teeth and slices up the inside of your mouth .. but they are delicious.  Especially the watermelon and blue flavor!

They can also work quite well to flavour infuse vodka, as I found out at a friend's wedding.

Personally... Reese's Pieces!  Yummy sugary goodness.

Still been meaning to do that.  I made skittle vodka.  WAY too much work and it's average.  I have 5 bottles of the various colors in the freezer.  Good for mixing, but that about it.

I wanted to try to make blue raspberry and watermellon jolly rancher vodka, plus it's zero work to make it.

I guess I worded it funny, but what I meant is that it's rare to see them given out as Halloween candies in this area. Also, I couldn't tell you the last time I've been in any convenience store, much less browsing the candy rack in one.

I've never tried to do it myself, but it seemed to work quite well with the jolly ranchers - or at least the end product was delicious.
