Most beautiful place ever.  Went to an all-inclusive resort for a week and half.  When I go back it will be in March..

I love Cabo. But, I have no interest in this. The swim is no where near the famous arc - and, from what I can tell, the run/bike course will be less than scenic.

Good places to eat In Cabo San Lucas...
* Mi Casa (Mexian)
* Salvatore's (Italian)

Don't be afraid to get off the main street - my wife and I run all over that town with no worries (except for the crazy obstacle-course-like sidewalks).

Bring a lot of money.  I have never paid so much for food in Mexico.

Take a boat trip out to the arch and around the end of the peninsula to see the Pacific Ocean side.  It's just a fun little boat ride. I wouldn't bother getting out on the beach, frankly.  There are guys with glass bottom boats around the marina area.

The water is pretty cold there in the winter.  Virtually no one, locals or tourists, were in the water at the public beaches.  It's hope it's better in March, I was there in Feb of 2011.  (There's an album with pictures on Facebook)

Cabo is one of my favorite warm-weather vacation spots!

- Go whale watching

- Go scuba/snorkeling (can be combined with above)

- Visit the boat-in beach by the famous arch

- Visit at least one of the more secluded beaches

- Awesome golf (but $$$$) if you are into that

- Great deep sea fishing

- Get a drink at or eat at sunsetmonalisa.com - one of the best views of any restaurant anywhere

- Visit San Jose Del Cabo old town - much quieter and a nice walk around town

- The Westin is cool to visit

- The glass factory in Cabo San lucas is kinda fun, esp. for kids, if you have never been to one

- Desert jeep trip???

- Hang by the pool of course!

Really? I went just before Christmas a few years ago and everyone was all over the beach.

If you do go out to the beach by the arch (Lover's beach I think?), they say don't swim on the pacific side. The waves over there are quite large. I am a very strong swimmer and I went out there for a bit, but I got crushed by a huge wave once, that scared me enough to have me come back in.

Head to Cerritos Beach for surfing lessons (great core workout)..
If you do, since you will be close, visit Hotel California in Todos Santos

Yep - I swam (in my board shorts) everyday I was the for a week last month...

Agreed, DO NOT SWIM on the Pacific side of Lover's beach... there are killer rip tides.

Tides can be strong on the gulf side too, but not much wave action.  I would say the water is not super warm, but not cold for a Minnesotan Laughing  As anywhere in the ocean, be very careful and get local knowledge and pay attention to any warnings before venturing out.

Weird, must have been a fluke that winter.  I really did try to get in and couldn't convince myself. It wasn't just me.  This is good news because I thought it was like this and wondered why anyone even went.   It was very chilly at night, too.
