Champion 10471 Dallas, TX | Subject: Swim goggles for a small face that don't sit directly on the eye socket? All right, I use to wear Speedo Pro goggles. I still do, but they are all years old, because Speedo stopped making them about 5 years ago. They were PERFECT. I could adjust the nose piece, so I didn't have to worry about the goggles not sitting properly on my face. The actual lenses are made to sit OUTSIDE the eye socket and have a cushion (not some thin plastic molding) around it. I can't seem to find anything like these goggles on the market today. I would pay whatever it costs to get some that are similar to how these fit. All I know is that my eyes can't handle the goggles that sit on the eye socket with a thin plastic molding. Why? Because it causes horrible bags under my eyes. FOR HOURS. Sure, a 14 year old can use those goggles just fine. A 40 year old woman, cannot. Something sitting right there on the delicate eye tissue is beyond horrible. So, I figured I would see if anyone on BT knew of a make/model of goggles that sits outside the eye socket, with an adjustable nose piece and has padding around the lenses and not just some plastic molding. I could even deal with the plastic molding IF they sat outside the eye socket. I would like to stay away from a full mask, simply because I can't adjust the nose piece and thus they leak because they don't fit my face properly. Thanks for any suggestions you can provide! |

Melon Presser 52116 | Subject: RE: Swim goggles for a small face that don't sit directly on the eye socket? I hear ya--I'm much fonder of foam rims than I am of what they've got now (but I can also wear Socket Rockets, so never mind). However, you might want to try some of the larger-lensed Speedo JUNIOR models. They're great for small faces but still sit on, not in, the eye sockets. |

Extreme Veteran 968 Cape Coral, FL | Subject: RE: Swim goggles for a small face that don't sit directly on the eye socket? I was just checking and saw the speedo sprint goggles look real close to the same and they even have the foam rim. There were a few places that still have those in stock but there are others that list it as discontinued also. Maybe this was the replacement for the Pro? Just a guess and not 100% sure since I have never seen any in person just the photos. Not sure if I can post a link to the stores that have them still but here is a list of all the stores... http://www.thefind.com/search?query=speedo+sprint+goggles . Hope this helps |

Yeah, the are pretty close. While the cushion is a plus, and so is the adjustable nose piece, I'm sure they will do a number on my eyes since they sit in the eye socket. Worth a shot though at $9.99! Any other suggestions? |

Expert 2547 The Woodlands, TX | Subject: RE: Swim goggles for a small face that don't sit directly on the eye socket? Air seal and air seal tri - comes in a couple of versions. uses a pocket of air for the cushion. TYR Race Tech - Used to be THE goggle about 10 years ago for similar reasons you mention. The way they did the gasket was different and it provided more cushion. Plus you get an adjustable nose piece. Aquasphere Kayenne - not exactly what you want in the description, but it tends to be the defacto in "I want a comfortable goggle" with customers. Might be worth trying on at a store.
There are others (I'm around a few thousand goggles here) that might work, but these jump out at me. Hope this helps. |

Master 2167 Livonia, MI | Subject: RE: Swim goggles for a small face that don't sit directly on the eye socket? Try the Aquasphere Kayenne, they make a women's version. Like you, I suffer from goggle bags under the eye and discomfort with most goggles. After trying about 25 pair, the Kayenne's were the ones that were the most comfy for my small face and left the least lasting marks. The nose piece is not adjustable but I still find they feel and fit better than the ones that do. I'm still on the search for a goggle that doesn't leave a massive mark on my face for 24 hours and haven't had luck, but these are the closest so far and don't cause the egg bag. |

Master 4452 | Subject: RE: Swim goggles for a small face that don't sit directly on the eye socket? Another vote for TYR racetechs. My eyes are really close together, so I need the adjustable nosepiece. And I found a lot of goggles leaked for me, these have a nice padding and they don't leak at all. |

Veteran 206 Canton, GA | Subject: RE: Swim goggles for a small face that don't sit directly on the eye socket? I am curious about all the various goggles myself. I grew up a competitive swimmer and began wearing the 'swedish goggles'. They have zero cushion or seal, but they fit so well and I find them pretty comfortable that I've never switched to anything else. I like that they have such a low profile to my face and feel like everything else feels huge when it sticks out further. They are the ultimate in customized fit. Taking a kick in the face in them doesn't feel great, but I don't think a tiny little rubber seal would help much in that event either. I am curious how some of the other goggles feel when swimming in open water. The one downside to the swedish goggles for me is that I don't feel like I have very good field of vision in the open water swims, but I'm not sure how much of that is just 'par for the course' in open water swimming, and how much is actually the goggles. At $3.95, the swedish goggles are a nice bargain too. |

Master 5557 , California | Subject: RE: Swim goggles for a small face that don't sit directly on the eye socket? I hear ya... I'm the guy who can never find a pair of sunglasses that fit. Tyr Tracer goggles work pretty well for me - and they come with a couple different nose bridges. |

Extreme Veteran 643 , Guam | Subject: RE: Swim goggles for a small face that don't sit directly on the eye socket? jeffnboise - 2013-04-11 6:35 PM AquaSphere VistaXP is a small 'mask'. But they're low profile and really comfortable. I use the Aqua Sphere Seal XP Ladies goggles. The "Ladies" designates a smaller fit of the Seal XP and I use the same mask with a clear lens in the outdoor pool at night and the tinted version during the day doing my OW swim practice here in Miami. I can wear this mask for hours in the pool and through 4ft waves doing my 1 mile OW swims 2-3 times a week with not a drop of leak or discomfort. IMO--goggles are the same as the saddle is to biking. You have to keep looking and trying different saddles and goggles until you find your own personal perfect fit. Hope this helps |

Extreme Veteran 477 , Virginia | Subject: RE: Swim goggles for a small face that don't sit directly on the eye socket? Big fan of the Aquasphere Kayenne Ladies fit. I've had the same pair for 3 years already. FYI - if you're looking for smoke lens, they don't come in the ladies fit, but the small fit adult is about the same size, just a little larger. |

Master 3870 | Subject: RE: Swim goggles for a small face that don't sit directly on the eye socket? I've used two Speedo goggles, both fogged quickly and were uncomfortable around my eyes and/or nose. I just tried a TYR pair this week and they are SUPER comfortable. Swam for over 45 minutes without any fogging or adjustment, and no ugly eye bags (I hated those!). No nose adjustment, but wasn't an issue at all. |

10 | Subject: RE: Swim goggles for a small face that don't sit directly on the eye socket? I would look at speedo vanquishers. I am a competitive swimmer with eczema, and more streamlined models would cause me to flare up badly. Vanquishers were the trick for me. They are still hydrodynamic, but sit outside the socket and didn't cause my eyes any issues. |

GatorDeb - 2013-04-26 2:00 AM I had this problem until someone told me to use children's Goggles. I can now pick up any pair of Goggles as long as they are kid size and they fit like a glove. While fitting is an issue, it can be fixed with an adjustable nose piece. My main issue is having the goggle sit on my eye socket, versus outside of the eye socket. For example, I wore some goggles for approximately 20 mins the other night that sit on my eye socket, and I had huge bags under my eyes (puffiness and they looked slightly bruised). My eyes can't handle a one hour swim with goggles that sit on my eye socket. |
