Subject: RE: White Lake Water Temp?I saw photo's of the WL weekend's swim and it got me thinking. If the wind was blowing like that at Kure, then you would of been in trouble. The swim would of been cancelled and many people left disappointed. Weather is something we all deal with in training or racing, and while having the ideal glassy day with no wind for the swim and bike makes for a really enjoyable day, the inverse of those conditions make for finishing those races even more rewarding in my opinion. WL throws it all at us, and I have raced it in the likes of the weekend to no wind and so damn hot the roads were melting. And all in the same time frame, the 1st weekend in May. Thats the beauty of WL. Variety. Hats of to Set Up for not cancelling the swims on both weekends due to the conditions, and I bow to those mighty warriors who suited up and met the challenge head on. |
