It is so easy to focus on all the negative in the world, that we pass right over all the extrodinary people doing extrodinary things all around us. The Human Spirit is pretty incredible when it set free.

So anything you have of motivational stuff, to inspirational, or just recognizing people doing good things, big or small... post it up. Perhaps we can get this stickied at some point. We'll see how it goes. God knows I need a little inspiration from time to time.

This being a triathalon site.... it is fitting to start off with one near and dear... Team Hoyte.

Nice the next Oscar Pestorious, without the murder part...

What's great about kids is they almost don't know any better.  They are not like adults who will wallow in self pity at losing legs.  Kids just deal with what they have and just have fun...  We should be more like them.

This one was not too long ago Taylor Phinney and the ride for his dad. It is so easy taking what we have for granted. And it is real easy complaining about the endless training. But there are sooo many out there that would trade in a heart beat if they could.

The classic.

"I believe God made me for a purpose, but he also made me FAST. And when I run, I feel his pleasure."

My son is really fast for a 6 year old and I tell him that all the time.

I don't have a video or link to anything cool, but one of the things that is inspirational and motivational for me are my runs and rides themselves.  The long ones take me through all different kinds of neighborhoods.  One of my favorite routes goes past the bus-stop by the community college, the homeless shelter, and section 8 housing.

I feel incredibly lucky to be in a position to have the time, money, and health to participate in this sport.  A lot of what I have accomplished has come from hard work, but a lot of it started by choosing my parents carefully;) There are lots of things to see on those routes that just make me feel incredibly grateful.

HBO did a documentary about wounded soldiers returning from Iraq. I was so, so very reluctant to watch it because I did not want to see something using wounded soldiers to make some sort of "statement". The discription of it sort of leads you to believe that.... but it isn't even close to what the film was about. It was about people being people dealing with adversity and hardship. It was very personal, and it was simply awe inspiring. Incredibly moving. Not exactly "fairy tale" endings for everyone. I was really floored by it. People are incredible.

I highly recommend it if you have a chance to see it.

This one really blows me away. It's the clip of Laird Hamilton doing Teahoopu. It blows my mind what people can do when put in motion in a place and time. This one has been a favorite of mine every since I watched the movie.
