OK first... yes I meant to start this thread. Laughing

I just got back from the gym. 4 weeks post op. Doc said I could do a stationary bike/lift light weights. Got on the recumbent in disgrace, level 4 destroyed me in 20 minutes. It was actually really nice. Got my HR up to 150, and it even had a little cut out in the back. Lifted some weights, then got in the pool to see how that felt. Thinking about aqua jogging... uh no. Wound up killing 500 meters in 11 minutes. Laughing

It felt really good. I have not had any endorphines in while. I'm feeling pretty mellow, we shall see how it is in the morning.

Sorry if I have been more annoying than normal lately. Honestly, I have been going a little bat poop crazy sitting around. Little down and depressed... but now it is on like Donkey Kong. Two days w/o pain meds. Time to get off my butt!

Awesome, PM, good to hear.  Take it slow and easy, you'll be back out running in no time!  BTW, I did some aquajogging when I was injured at the beginning of this year.  I found going when there was an aquasize class on (for the music) or when the water polo was practicing (something to watch) was a good idea.  Anything to occupy your mind!!

Ya, I didn't think of how boring it would be.

And yes, easy does it. I want to do something every day, but I have plenty of time. I have to call the doc tommorrow to make sure he does not mind swimming, but he is all about me getting active again.

I guess I don't hang out in COJ enough to know the back story to this.  But I'm sure that having to be off normal activity for four weeks due to surgery is zero fun for a fitness minded person, or anyone for that matter.  Good for you for jumping back into the swing of things as soon as possible.

Let the adrenaline rushes begin!

I deserve everything I get. But if you repeat that to me, I will deny it. Laughing

Thank you so much every one. And Jeff, it will be a while before I tangle with you again. Smile

More biking and swimming today. A whole 700 yrds. I was going to do 1000, but I am actually trying to take it easy.

Then it was date night with best woman in the world. Dinner, movie, and ice cream. Smile

I think I am going to set up my trainer tomorrow. Wink

Sounds like a good night!  What flavor ice cream?  Blue Moon?

The trainer does not sound as much fun Laughing, enjoy it though.

Cold Stone... chocolate peanut butter with heath bars.... OMG, maybe I have a disease!

The trainer will be much better than the recumbent or spin bike at the gym. It will give me motivation.Smile

Cold Stone is just a ice cream shop. Their claim to fame is you pick your ice cream and they mix in your toppings on a "cold stone". It's pretty good. But it was date night... so we went to hang out with the kids.

So another follow up with doc.... no running till 3 months, and it is possible nerve damage is permanent, even though he thinks it is unlikely. From here he said it would probably be a long slow frustrating process. Back is doing fine though.

However, I can do all the no impact stuff I want. So it is going to be weights and swim 3 times a week, and the trainer the other days. Went back to work this week, accomplished nothing.

Trying to decide which half marathons to sign up for, and I am going to do the new Boulder 70.3 in June next year. Considering Ironman boulder in 15. I guess I have milked this long enough....
