When I was younger, my dadd used to drive an older guy home that was a fighter pilot in WWII and Vietnam on Wed nights and he used to tell me stories about the war. I was riveted. I was probably 5 or 6 years old, but I still remember Mr Warren tell ing his stories!
I bet this guy has some stories that would blow our minds |

![]() I saw that one a while ago. Simply amazing. I've shot at 1K but it was with a Ma Deuce at about 500 rounds per minute off a helicopter ![]() |

I think it comes from the great relationship they had with their grandpa and still have with grandma....ad their grandpa's patience with them....it left an indelible mark, as I'm sure Mr. Warren left on you. They want to tell their stories.....unfortunately too few people want to listen. Personally, I think every kid should be exposed to old people as much as possible.....they are a wealth of knowledge no matter what they did in life. Obviously, those current soldiers in the video get it. Deep respect there. Edited by Left Brain 2014-03-11 11:00 AM |

My grandfather (dad's dad) was in WWII and hit one of the beaches. Just loved listening to him talk about it and was lucky enough to meet one of his buddies that landed with him. He actually had a scar across his forehead where a bullet grazed him on the beach. I was only about 12 or 13 when I met him but my dad and I listened to their stories for at least 3-4 hours and could have done it longer if we didn't have to leave. I love listening to the stories from older individuals. It is an oral history that will never be written but is valuable none the less.

Sensei ![]() | ![]() That would be fantastic to witness. Stuff like that chokes me up a bit. As a side note, never tried it so it would be awesome to go to a 1000 meter range and send a few. I think I could be there all day and not get tired of it.

I was at Sig Sauer's shooting Academy 2 years ago.....they have a .50 caliber 1 mile range. The rounds go over the top (way over the top) of some of the other ranges,,,,,it's wild. I didn't get to shoot it since we were there for combat shooting, but I sure would have loved to give it go. |

Member ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() While you're right anyone that can keep a 5" group at 1000 yards is pretty awesome. My dad used to shoot at the National match's (military) at Camp Perry Ohio. They would shoot a standard issue M-1 Grand with match ammo at 1000 yards with IRON SIGHTS, I couldn't even see the targets. I don't remember the kind of groups they used to shoot but geez iron sights at I believe was a 24" bull. |

He used to shoot it when we dog hunted when I was a little kid. Ive seen him pull of some amazing shots with iron sights on that thing. |
