 Subject: Saw a few jellyfish on a recent swim....... (imgs)
Jellyfish Lake, Palau, is an inland lake that was once exposed to the sea. The land closed around it, trapping golden jellyfish in the lake, which have evolved to lose their defenses, so they have no sting. They drop to the bottom at night, and rise to follow the arc of the sun during the day to feed the symbiotic algae that live inside them. Edited by ChrisM 2015-04-20 12:44 PM |
