Subject: Synching issues

Hello - two workouts (a bike and a run) did not pull over from Garmin Connect yesterday.  My short swim did, though.  No issues with Training Peaks or Strava picking them up.  I also keep getting an "oops" error when trying to manually upload a TrainerRoad file.

Same. Automatic sync from Garmin is not working for me today. I am also unable to successfully do manual uploads (from Zwift).

The backlogged workouts are processing now. There were a couple thousand, so it will take a little while to complete, but they'll be done before the end of the day.

We've been upgrading to a new server all weekend, and it resulted in a situation where most of the uploaded workouts were being sent to the old server, but the new server was the one actually doing the work to process the files. And since the files were on the old server and not the new one, the process failed.

Now that we're completely cut over to the new server, the upload endpoint has been re synchronized and all failed workouts are requeued.

I don't know about the failed TrainerRoad file, that sounds like a separate thing. If you can send the file into support and reference this thread, we can analyze it in greater detail

Thanks

I'm getting upload errors again this weekend. I was just trying to do a manual upload of a Zwift file :-/

Oops! Something's gone wrong. Please contact [email protected] and we'll get right on it.

P.S. I was able to do a manual upload of the same file to Runalyze and Final Surge. I'm pretty sure that the file itself is fine.

Please try again. I found an issue that was preventing some workouts from being uploaded manually. It did not affect workouts coming from Garmin Connect or Tapiriik

I am having issues synching with Strava through Tapiriik.  Not sure if the issue is on the Tapiriik side???

I think that Tapiriik is kaput. It hasn't worked consistently for me for a long time.  I truly hope that BT is actively and seriously investigating other syncing options. I know several long time BTers who are just not using the training logs anymore because they are not using Garmin devices or because they primarily use Sufferfest/Zwift, etc. that do not import.  I don't blame them, really. If I was primarily a cyclist and had a Wahoo head unit, would I manually import every ride?

Unfortunately, no training logs means that they are not around much anymore. It's a big loss to the BT community and if this site is going to continue, something needs to be done. From a business perspective, that's a lot of lost page views as well.

Strava import would go a long way towards fixing it.  Other solutions like FitnessSyncer may work as well.

Thanks - We are in active discussions with FitnessSyncer. Updates forthcoming!

I'll look into Strava importing as well.
The syncing across multiple platforms is more attractive. Although Strava has tons of market share, there are other solutions that used to and we invested in being able to import, and now they are completely gone. So we don't want to repeat those mistakes.

Thanks for the update!  Hopefully you can find something that will work with Strava.  In the meantime, I will enter my data manually.   My BT log has every single workout and race that I have done since 2004.  I sure would hate to lose that data!

I am that small percentage that does not use a Garmin and I'm really not all that willing to do extra work to get things imported to BT. So yes, I'b be pretty interested in seeing something sync with TP or Strava or one of the others out there.

Thanks a bunch for working on this,

Chris

I'm currently getting an authentication error with the BT connection. I have contacted FitnessSyncer with the following information.

I just tried your new Beginner Triathlete (BT) sync and I'm getting the following error: "Authentication failed for BeginnerTriathlete. Please add new authentication in the editor. "
I changed my BT password and logged out and logged back in. I updated the userid/pw in FitnessSyncer. The error persisted
I change the userid in FitnessSyncer to my email address. The error persisted.
