Run
Comments: Ideally, I was hoping to run 5:40 mile pace but my legs just weren't up to it today after this past week with several tough workouts. Lined up at the start so that I was in the top 75-100 or so and with a 99th place finish overall it was about right. Simply went out and played the pace by ear to see how my legs felt. Couldn't really kick it into another gear so I just tried to make the best of it. Good workout. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Trained through this race so wasn't expecting to be very fast. Post race
Warm down: 20 minute easy run What limited your ability to perform faster: Tired legs from this week's workouts. Just wanted to use the race as another workout. Event comments: Get in Gear is a huge spring race for the Twin Cities. The course follows the bluffs above the Mississippi River so it is very winding and paying attention to running the tangents is important. Very nice course and not too tough. Up at 5 to eat a piece of toast with peanut butter and a bowl of cereal, glass of OJ. Met gang at 6:45 to drive to MPLS.
Easy run for 15 minutes, probably should have done quite a bit more. Calves were feeling very tight and legs overall didn't have much spring to them.
