1.  I minored in Civil War History and wrote a book about the intolerances of the scorched earth campaign (no longer in print).

My stepdad has written a few civil war history books :D

mr2tony - 2008-09-17 1:15 PM I used to beat up people like you guys in high school. Well, not JD. But, you know, Wurkit and Cami and Artemis for sure!

So you picked on girls because they were the only ones you could possibly handle?

No. I liked to fight girls because it was the only way I could touch female boobies when I was in high school.

If you were cute, I might have let you.  Guys didn't wan to touch my boobies in highschool And I don't even get it, cuz I was super-cute and dressed nicely and didn't look like a troll or anything. And I wasn't THAT nerdy, really. I was in choir and the musical, and I was smart, but I wasn't really a textbook "nerd". I looked like the popular kids. I just wasn't "popular" for some reason, so guys didn't ask me out.

College, however, was a different story...

Maybe personality?

bcart1991 - 2008-09-17 12:02 PM Atomic FireBalls are win. So is the new bike I'm building. Woot.

What's the new ride going to be?

Carbon/Ti frame & fork, 6600 Ultegra, carbon bar, carbon crank. Haven't decided on wheels yet. I have a couple sets I could use, but I'm debating getting an uber-light (but not stupid light - I'm still 200 lbs.) set-up.

Road or TT?  If you do end up looking at wheels I'm loving my HED JetC2's so far...and the shop I got them from is in ATL.

Road for now. It can very easily becom the TT/Tri machine.

I need to find a nice, lightweight, not-too-expensive tubular rear to match the front I picked up recently. That would complete the package nicely.

Yeah, mine wasn't appreciated too much either.

yeah... if the average speed is the same the time will be the same...

now if you want to talk about an equal level of effort... there you go... of course then that depends on the rider's ability to go aero... and that is COMPLETELY dependent on the individual..

but enough about stuff...

Cool.  I have absolutely no experience with tubulars so I have nothing to add to that.  I'm thinking about doing something like that to my roadbike.  Upgrading one component at a time as I have the funding until I have a sweet roadie, and then picking up a TT frame and swapping stuff over.  I think that might be fun.

Actually, I went to a performing arts college, so there were no straight boys or sports teams. But everywhere else I went (parties at other schools, out on teh street, etc), I got hit on, for sure. But no, I wasn't slutty.

My high school was weird b/c we were big enought o have "smart and popular" (like the kids in AP classes and student govt, etc) and "dumb and popular" (the slutty girls, the cheerleaders, the dumber jocks - we also had smart jocks who were in band and choir). Sadly, I did not make it into "smart an popular", though I would not have wanted to be "dumb and popular".

I don't read much of the "journal" style books, but I might pick that up.

I am more in the "War Stratgey" field.  My book was called "Scorching Earth: The beginnings of Total War"

I think it sold about 23 copies.  I bought 4 of them and my Mom bought 2.  That leaves 17 other unfortunate souls that got stuck trying to read my gibberish.
