X-caliber 50 -  Since you only went down on 1 knee (even if it was "just 4 seconds), does that mean you did the man-version of the "girlie" push-ups?     Wink   I think you and AbbieR had the right idea for today, that's what I should have done....   Only I would have needed more the 4sec.

Oh, no no no, no girlie pushups for me, not that there's anything WRONG with girlie pushups, lets just say I took a 4 second girlie break. But looking at my abilities from just 2.5 weeks ago, I feel more manly all the time.

push-ups repeat week4 day3: 16, 18, 13, 13, 22 (max)

So, the moment of truth will be Tuesday, when I repeat the second progress test. The last time I just did the bare minimum to move on (31) and I am really hoping to add a couple of pushups to this number.

Have a great Sunday everbody!!!

I actually remembered today...

Week 5 Day 3

13/13/15/15/12/12/10/30ish = 120

I say 30ish 'cuz the last couple of this set was really ugly.  Now I have a question for you all...do I repeat the whole week (like I was originally thinking) or do I just repeat this day?  What to do...what to do...

WOW grats on a nice set. Looks like your on the home stretch!!

I managed to screw up my days last week so I decided to repeat week 3. I figure an extra week couldn't hurt.

12, 17, 13, 13, 22 = 77

Thanks, I am kinda proud of myself.

It was more than 6 weeks. I stopped for a week and did week 4 over then it took more than a week for a couple of weeks so, I would guess 9 weeks?

It would have just been easier to just move on through the program. I am going to restart with regular military sytle now. I am not sure how far I can go since I have wrist damage.

Nice job on the 100, that's very impressive!

I just finished week 3 and it was rough. Probably made rougher by the fact that the only time I seem to have for pushups is usually right after swim class.

I made it through yesterday though and tomorrow move on to Week 4 which just looks like a repeat of week 3 with a few extras thrown in for good measure, so I hope it's pretty doable.

Did 30/22/22/20/27 last night for my most total pushups yet at 121!!

After repeating week 4, I did do the progress test again today and did 35 pushups in a row. Last week I did 31. I feel a little more comfortable now to move on to week 5.

Happy pushing everybody.

I've decided to repeat week 5 so today I completed week 5/day 1 ~ again!

17/19/15/15/24 = 90

Last time I did these sets I maxed out at 20 so i'm hoping repeating this will help!

Week 6 Day 2 complete - 22, 22, 30, 30, 24, 24, 18, 18, 58

The 58 set at the end was very tough and had to really push through the last 5. I ended up forgetting the rest of my lifting I was going to do and just hit the bike instead as my arms were wasted.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!

Managed to get my pushups in last night. It was tuff. I had just driven from Houston to Orlando Fl (about 17 hours over two days) The last thing I wanted to do was pushup after that crummy drive. But I did it. I was "worthless and weak" but I got through it. Hopefully i'll get better in a few days.

14, 19, 14, 14, 15, 4 = 80

That reminds me. I went out and bought a set of those "pushup handles", not the rotating kind, just the the ones that have a handle you can grip on. For some reason I dont seem to be able to do as many pushups when I use those handles rather than just using the floor. Does anyone think there is anything to that or is it just in my mind?

My nephew has the handles and they make you use more stabilizing muscles, IMO, so it makes sense that they're harder with the handles

I did 3 more on my max than I did last time and it's definitely feeling better ~ although I would NOT say easy!
