I'm not racing any distance that weekend (or the rest of the season, for that matter!) but it sounds like my kind of bike ride and is only 45 minutes from my hood....give the final details!

Oh, and this is going to be one of those "hey, let's just tell everyone to wear costumes then dress normally and laugh at them", is it??

If not, then I'm game. Just need some costume ideas.;P

Yes, it will be like the Bridget Jones movie.  We are doing Vicars and Tarts.  Please post pics of yourself in the Playboy bunny outfit so the group can approve.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Playboy Bunny and Speedo-Clad cyclists! I love it...I think we may throw Carrabas and this Jimmy's place into chaos.

This party just got better.  I think it's going to be a full moon.  (and yes, I'm talking about the one in the sky)

On that note, I think everyone should have a photo taken while in costume and use it for their profile image. Of course, there will have to be a group shot.

Definitely "yes" on the group shot - now that would make one heckuva banner!

This is plain crazy at this point. Can't wait to wear my chaps. How does one bicycle in those?

Probably the same way that one bicycles in not-them.

If I do come into to town for this epic event, would anyone be interested in doing a real ride with me on Saturday AM? (Obviously, you don't have to commit now as I am not even fully committed to making it into to town yet, but I was just wondering if there would be some interest. Knowing I could still get my weekend in ride in will further convince me to travel down. It won't be anything big...just 2 - 2.5 hrs probably.)

Thnx,
Lauren

Nothing big...just 2-2.5 hours? Wow - you rock, girl! What's your avg. speed? If it's early enough of a start (really early - I'll have something at 10 that morning & need to clean up afterward) - I may be able to join you on that. All just speculative at this point.

Well, it's off season training, so it'll be a fairly EZ ride - plus, the avg speed of the day depends hills, lights, wind, etc.

I typically get started bright and early, but I can't make any promises for that weekend as I will be crashing at someone's house (so it won't be my normal routine and I'm not familiar with the area) and I might be up past my bedtime on Friday .

We'll chat as the date approaches. I just want to gauge interest . Thanks for the interest .

Oh, you don't want that, because my ride would be so much cooler than your ride, and then this thread you're so proud of will forever live on page 2, or 3, or 4.... .

If I'm around I might be up for a 1-1/2 to 2 hour ride, but nothing long (tapering and all that).  And at an easy pace.

SWEET!!! That'll be so awesome to ride with you and Blackbird. Yeah, it won't be anything hard...it's the off season (and your EZ is still harder than my EZ anyway). But with being reduced to only one outdoor ride/week by then, I want to make sure I get in a ride, and it'll be cool to ride in a new place .

I'd probably ride Sheila for that kind of ride.  Blackbird would be race ready with the disc and all that, so I would have a hard time doing less than 20+ mph on her ...

I am sure a number of our normal group would be up for a ride - I would be in...and yes I will get my chance to see Blackbird at LP as well.

Now back to the costume talk......
