first i think goup power is the way to put it . i love the boot camp classes but then i sent 13 week in them in the USMC for boot camp.
had my first crash today out on the bike really didnt see it comming made a right turn and there was this guy out for his morning exercise session i guess . my thought at first was he could have gave a little . i mean he took up the whole path (really) . but as i rode on i was thinking about him and come to think at least he is out ther doing something for him self .( first the pool was closed today then this guy . how much worse could this day go). the reason i say that is cause the guy was big !! but he could have promised himself for the new year that he was gonna work out . i dont know but for that i i applaude him .1st cause he is making a diffrence in his life .2nd cause i am a CPT and i like to work with people like him . helping people change there life for the better
so while i was out on the bike i made the up my mind to go a head and do a brick today ! smart well maybe not. but the pool was down so i needed something to do

Yeah!  I think Group Power is a great option!  Thanks Roni and Mac!

Mac.  Do you have any suggestions for exercises from your Marine boot camp?

Dang, I'm glad to hear that you're okay. I think you have a great attitude about it though. I know that I'm too quick to judge people, so good for you for at least giving him the benefit of the doubt and thinking good thoughts for him at least getting out there. How's the bike? Was this your new one?

Rodney - 2008-01-07 2:55 PM How do I set "Goals" so they display on my Log page"

On your log page,  click the top quick link icon next to your calendar. then click the tab that says 'Goals', type in your goal and then click the 'Apply' that's below the two goal windows

Shaun I totaly understand the bike thing. I was going down a long hill with an 8 percent grade and it had a sharp corner to it towards the bottem and sand on it that resulted in my crashing (as in needing to replace the frame crashing) my brand new Tri bike 3 days before my first triathlon. I ended up having to rent a bike for the tri.

It is all good now, the frame was replaced for free and I have 100-200 miles on the new frame now. The road rash takes about 2 weeks to heal if you take care of it well and it is not too deep. I have a much greater respect for thin tires on downhill slopes now and for curves and surface conditions. With the bike, there are just some things that you learn to watch out for from experience and it is hard to just give someone a list. There are also things that just happen and well have to be lived with. Equipment is easier to replace than injury even though the $$ hurt at the time.

Anyway grats on the wedding. One comedian said that you have be very careful what you do the first month after you are married.... (she states) "I did the dishes."

With the roads being too icy for my wife to feel comfortable driving today... I think I will be on the trainer tonight.

yea the main thing is the bike is ok . it rode well for the rest of the ride . heck the crash happened in the first 6 miles . the thing i laugh about is for a few years people have asked me why i shave . and you hear all kinds of stories but the one about road rash healing better do to no hair being there well i finally get to test it out . but besides that im just glad that both him and i turned out ok . i say him cause i guess i could have plowed him and turned out worse . thanks everyone have a great day tomorrow

Thanks so much, Steve!  I'm really looking forward to our wedding!  I never really understood that phrase "you'll know him when you find him"......until I met him.  It hit me like a ton of bricks!   It scared me, too!  That phrase is soooo true.

I got out this morning for a run. On Friday I ran indoors because it was 18 degrees; this morning it was 49 degrees. Weird weather!

First run with my Garmin. It said that my 2.7 mile run is actually only 2.62 I am not going back to change this in my logs! A pretty good run at a decent pace.

had a great swim this morning tis is the only sport I am feeling I can do at this point.

I did see a lot of people breathing wrong. so my swimming tip for the day is

exhalations(i hope that a word) should  be in the water make bubbles.

I am sure you all know that but just need to say it seen so many people  gasping today.

Have a great day.

Thanks Amy!  Yes, people lose a lot of energy by gasping for air, don't they!

Owl...Best wishes and prayers to you, your Dad and your whole family.

MD... daughters are 16 and 13. Boyfriends, learning to drive, that monthly thing, other hormones, seeking independence, etc. Four years ago I didn't have grey hair, now it's mostly grey.

owl_girl - 2008-01-07 10:10 AM Hi Everyone!!!  The wedding is almost here so I'm going to be gone for a few weeks.  I talked to Nicole (MDHillSlug) about taking the reins while I'm busy.  I'll be leaving next Monday and back at the beginning of February.  I'll still get on BT as much as I can 'cause I'm supposed to start training for my HIM next Monday!  My internet access is going to be unpredictable, though.  I hope everyone had a good weekend!!  Cheers!!!

Congratulations!! Have a great time!
