I'm not competitive either.... :P Good thing I'm not on this team -- or I'd run until my legs fell off. (Not that this would take very long.... I am SO not a runner!) Dexter - we know Sam is on "the other team" -- but she still needs to get her runs in! LOL We'd have loved to have you join us, D001! But I think you decided to swim. I don't see ANYTHING competitive about this group!

Master 1848 Canandaigua | Subject: RE: Who's Your Marmadaddy OK I'll try to get Sam out tomorrow. Oh wait if Sam runs then I run so the regression of the percentage points carrying the 4 is minimal. What I do know right now she nicked her ear and we are trying to stop in from bleeding. She'll be fine just little drips. Oh M-daddy just jacked the board some with about 12 miles. Girls 44.69 vs Boys 48.89. Hope it's big day for the X chromosome. Edited by dexter 2008-01-12 5:09 PM |

I'm MUCH better at swimming than running. (So technically, I probably SHOULD be running this month.... but I LIKE the pool. LOL) Nothing wrong with a little competition. |

And yes, I figure that if she runs, then you run, which means you both add percentage points to your respective teams. But hey, Sam has to meet her goal, too. Besides, she's a dog. (Literally, not figuratively.) Therefore, she probably LOVES these run sessions! How did she nick her ear? Poor pup. |

In few sentences perhaps tell us why you started in this trio of sports and why you do it now . Started because some friends talked me into a marathon. Couch Potato to marathon in 7 months! (not a recommended strategy). Anyway, 5 marathons and countless other half mary's 5 and 10 k races later, the gang decided to tri a tri. I tried a Tri and got MAJOR hooked. Love the sport.

Royal(PITA) 14270 West Chester, Ohio | Subject: RE: Who's Your Marmadaddy First...I got my run in this morning I got into this in a backward kind of way., Four years ago, I was obese and working on the weight...I was fascinated by tris but always rationalized the many reasons why I couldn't do one. We relocated 3 years ago and I began running as a stress reliever after a particularly bad shift at work. Within a few months I signed up for my first 10K--the goal was to finish without needing medical help. I had a stress injury to my foot shortly after that first 10K race and had to start cross training in order to keep active and off that foot. So I picked up bike time and began swimming (rather inefficiently but I didn't know it at the time). I started planning for my first tri in the fall of '06 and did my first tri's last summer. Triathalon training and racing give me focus in the efforts to keep the weight down. They also motivate me to keep my butt in gear rather than on the couch. Of course, the sense of pride that I did just complete a race or aa particularly tough course can't be beaten either |

Member 22 Hamden, CT | Subject: RE: Who's Your Marmadaddy I got a good run in yesterday, I was actually able to run outside in just a long-sleved t-shirt and a hat, it was awesome. I'm headed out again here in a few minutes, it's just too nice. Plus, they say that were supposed to get 8-10 inches of snow tonight and tomorrow, so I better get while the gettin's good. I'm almost 50% of the way through my goal of 73, so I feel pretty good about that too. I got into triathlons after learning of the shorter distances. I'd always assumed that triathlons were just the iron man distances, far more than I was ready to try. But, when I moved to Connecticut, I had some friends who were racing a sprint and they told me about it. I was excited to try something new and felt that a sprint was something I could accomplish without killing myself. I trained for a few months and had a pretty good race. I told everyone back in Ohio about how much I enjoyed it and I really got hooked. I can't wait to start my second season. The only down side is all the gear you want once you're into the sport, but I guess there could be worse things. |

Science Nerd 28760 Redwood City, California | Subject: RE: Who's Your Marmadaddy I was a swimmer and had always biked as a kid, so I figured I was 2/3 of the way to being able to do a triathlon. I started running in 2005 (the year I did my first sprint tri) and I've been doing more and more since then. When I started this, I couldn't run a mile. Now, I'm training for a full marathon. Crazy how things change. I still don't really think of myself as a runner. I got in 6 miles yesterday, so I just updated the spreadsheet. Women are at 53.38% and men and 54.17%. |

That’s almost the distance from New York City to Baltimore. 1) Go to: http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=puhAA5NRKHA34-bbHURAVCw&hl=e... 2) You will need to enter this info: email address: [email protected] password: challengeforum 3) The ONLY column that you will need to update is "Total Completed to Date." This is the total amount that you have completed as of the reporting date. 3) You can update the spreadsheet as often as you'd like. However.... Your cumulative amounts must be entered in this spreadsheet by Sunday evening, your time on the following days: - Jan 6 - Jan 13 - Jan 20 - Jan 27 - Jan 31 4) If you have trouble using this spreadsheet, please let your Team Captain know. He/she will be able to help you, or will enter the data for you. |
