I was reallyy hoping it wouldn't go near that number.  Rumor has it there's a thermometer attached to one of the docks.  Anyone get a peak at the temp today?

PRAY FOR 76.0!!

The Bike course director also said NOT to go aero on the Keene descent. He said, there are new patches of asphalt the highway department just put down from the top to the bottom of the descent.

OK, some questions stemming from my lack of experience...Warning: possible stupidity within...

1. What is the mornong clothes bag for? Is that to put your stuff you wear down to transition and perhaps after the finish? (ie shoes, tshirt, etc...)

2. Since we need to bring transitions bags down with the bike on Saturday, does anybody know if we have access to them race morning to add anything (ie. Nutrition). I'm wearing a 2-bottle fuel belt on the run and am concentrating Infinit. Ideally would like to premix race morning so I don't have to add water rather than leaving mixed the day before.

.That is it

I'll answer #1, and I too need an answer for #2.

I am using my morning clothes bag to put my sandals, shorts, and wetsuit meshbag with body glide into.

1.  The morning clothes bag is the bag you will put all your clothes in that you will be wearing when you get to the race tomorrow morning.  Yes, this is the bag you will be able to get access to after the race as well so its a very good idea to have some warm clothes in there for after you finish if you weren't already wearing some before the race.

2.  If its like AZ last year, yes, you will have access to your transition bags on race morning.  However, I haven't done this race before so I'm not 100% on that, but I would be really surprised if you didn't.

OK, it's not that I need wetsuit, I just want to wear one. I'm not going to KQ or and a top 10 AG finish, do you still get a finish place in your age group or are you others than finished with wetsuit?

It was really nice meeting you all yesterday. I want to say thank you all for the insight, advice and encouragement you have given me along this journey. I'm from a small Mississippi town so I have essentially done most of my training alone or with you guys hehe. Just remember let's have fun tomorrow and when times get tough Never Give Up. Dont fret about things out of our control and if something goes wrong try to mentally make make it out not to be that bad and make the adjustments necessary. And just to let the ones that didn't make it to the swim meet up yesterday , No I ain't got ACCENT, haha

Hey peewee - I didn't notice that you had an accent at all. Everyone else sure does though....

if they are not legal, no wetsuit for me - I figure if enough people elect to wear them then maybe it will only have to roll-down 250ish to get me to Hawaii!

I guess I can't get enough of this, signed up again for next year. Not really sure what I was thinking, it is smart for IM to get my money before I race, Mon morning I may not fell the same. Good luck out there and be safe!

I signed up for next year, too. To answer a question - if it's above 76.1 and you wear a wetsuit your finish place is the same. You are just not eligible for Kona slots or AG awards. I also double-confirmed: we will have access to our run and bike gear bags starting at 5 AM Sunday morning.

I don't know. Anyone??

From the IM Texas results (http://www.ironmanlive.com/tracking.php?race=texas&year=2011) it appears that everyone in the AG is ranked together regardless of whether or not the person decided to wear a wetsuit.

Went for a swim in the lake today....it is pretty warm...but I'm used to swimming in like 13C water in BC and Alberta. I really don't need a wetsuit...debating if I am going to wear it or not even if it is wetsuit legal...I don't really like to wear it and I don't think the time gains are that significant for me on the swim--throws my body position out, etc (I don't swim a lot on my wet suit...my bad )...I always feel constricted and especially hate getting up to run in it...decisions decisions....

Anyone else thinking no wetsuit? ETA: even if it is wetsuit legal?

The pool I train in is kept around 84 degrees.  The lake I swim in has been close to 80 degrees and is 6' shallow in the middle.  Needless to say, Mirror Lake feels nice and cold to me.  I will wearing a wetsuit, for sure.

I'm swimming with a splint on left hand and taped up fingers on right....need all the help I can get.  Definitely swimming with a wetsuit.  I still think it will be a legal wetsuit swim regardless.
