If you are going to name him Mr. Walker, I assume you will be riding over people as well as by them!

And yes....I love your bike.

It seemed fitting - Powerful, quick and black and red with white letters.

oh lordy can I get one too!?  hubby says yes (of course he just spent the same money on a banjo so how could he argue??).

I'll call tomorrow but reading all your sizing posts I wonder what's the right size for me (last "road" bike was a cheapie schwinn in high school).  I'm female, 5'9.5", with a 32.5" inseam.  reading your posts maybe I'll go with a 55 Parma since it sounds like (as of Monday at least) they were still instock.  Will I have any choices?

wrench science puts me on a 54 center to center.  but some of you (MoquiVA) with a shorter inseam are on 57s.  I'd guess the 55 might be better for my womanly self?   AAAAHHHHHhhh!

I am a lurker coming out of the shadows... Just wanted to say thanks for all the great info that's gone back and forth on this forum thread. It definitely helped bolster my decision!

I ended up purchasing a 51cm Garda. It's a beauty. What put me over the fence on whether or not to jump on this deal was the opinion of my neighbor who is a pro cyclist (he rides those fancy schmancy bikes that would cost me a kidney for sure). He says you won't find half as good a bike for double the price. Based on value alone, those of you still wondering should just go for it. You can always sell the parts if it's not for you!

And if you aren't sure on sizing just have your measurements and ask the guys when you call. They really know their stuff. My bike is getting tuned... can't wait to get a ride in!!

I bought a 55 Garda this morning.  There are still 55 Parmas too, but Geoff talked me into the Garda as a better fit/match for me.  yippee!  early next week I get a new bike?!

Should I use it for my mini mini tri on the 12th?  dunno - might not because the night before will have sketchy security for the bikes as I'm couch surfing... unless I want to carry it up 3 flights of stairs (along with 2 kids and their gear).  HMM, maybe the mtn bike will do fine.  We'll see how I feel once I see the thing!

Well I am the newest of the Bt'ers getting a Javelin. I just got off the phone with Geoff and this time next week I will be sporting my brand spankin new bike. I got the Sizzano 59cm and from the sound of it they still have a lot of bikes in different sizes. Kind of wanted the Varese for only a hundred dollars more but don't think I would be very comfortable on a 54cm bike at 6'2". Anyway I am sooo excited I can't wait. Now I just have to figure out a way to tell my wife.....Hmmm any suggestions.

Buy her a banjo? Tongue out  That's the reason my hubby can't complain.

I'm starting to think this is Javelins idea of guerilla marketing.

Just get Bikes out there. LOTS of them!

If so... not really such a bad idea.

To bad this is the result of a failing to make it in the entry level road and TT complete bike market. So lots may see these, but won't be able to get them anymore.

This is a planned event - kind of.  These models are no longer available, but they are trying to get the Javelin name out - like Felt did not so long ago.  Look how far Felt has come.  They are taking a bike that they couldn't sell two years ago, that they weren't going to be selling anyway.  It is a great exposure move.

Sounds like were saying the same thing. But it is my understanding (which easily could be wrong) that they are getting out of as of last year the low end complete bike (ie already built up) market and will just continue selling frames and higher end bikes.

Which is interesting because the guy at the bike shop who put mine together said they used to sell Javelin but they were never as nice as mine... but I did get the Fara which was one of the nicer ones of the bunch.

Javelin is going to all carbon...which is why the place near me that used to sell them doesn't sell them anymore.   Too expensive to keep up...doesn't attract the cliente that having a mix of frames does.

Fedx just dropped my parmas by.  They look great.  LBS is going to put them together for 50$ a piece.  For those of you that have already assembled parmas....any pointers or info that I should make the lbs aware of??

Thanks to all for the great info thus far, I cant wait to show my wife her bike when she gets home!!

To the ladies who ordered 51cm Narnis or 47 Sizzanos - how did they fit? I'm 5'6" with a 31" inseam, and I just did a little fit at home adjusting my hubby's tri bike, and we came up with numbers that said I needed a top tube around 45cm!! No one makes a bike that small so we figure we must be missing something.

Thanks!

Finally got out on my Parma, today.

As I rode away I realized my shoes are black and white, my pants black, jersey white, helmet Black. I was color coordinated with my bike, except the black and yellow gloves. Gotta fix that.

Thanks for the nice words.  No, the saddle is not the stock one. The one it came with was nice though. The one on the bike is an ISM Adamo Road saddle.  I ride with Adamo on my bikes, helps with the sore-ness issue.  They are both good bikes and I am very glad to have them.
