Glen nice job on the long rides...I'm jealous stuck on my computrainer doing hard intervals.

I've been working with my new coach a couple weeks and feel more like a triathlete again with balanced consistent training which I enjoy.

I'd like to hear how that pool lap counter watch works...report back after you use it a few times.

All my presents but three were tri/fitness related...

hot pink compression socks..sweet!
3 pairs of bike shorts
bike jersey
bike jacket that matches my bike and is funky
some sweet Park Tools including torque wrench, chain tool, and hex wrench set
Garmin 310XT that should work with my power meter
2 poly swimsuits
Born to Run
crossfit journal that has all the benchmark workouts, wods listed to see how I improve
few other odds and ends

Great to hear everyone had a good Christmas!  I didn't ask for anything major this year...just trying to cover my entry fees for races next year.  Did get a Tri Suit...will actually give it a go at my first 1/2 IM in May...

I feel sooo fat right now...after New Years it is time to get back on track...going to be a tough transition...after what I've been eating over the holiday's...

I too have been sluggish and lethargic this month...Way too much time sitting on the couch and eating cookies. I'm getting over a chest cold and look forward to ramping up again for what will be my longest and toughest season. Got some new tunes on the iPod to keep me going! Gotta go - more cookies to eat.

Kathy, I have hot pink compression socks, too, and I love them. I got them at the Marine Corps Marathon in October, so I've used them twice now after marathons. Also finished reading Born to Run not long ago. I think you'll like it.

Santa told me I could buy a new wetsuit, so I'll be off to the store in the next couple of weeks to see if they have one that fits.

id be afraid of buying a wetsuit in my phat state. id probably get one two sizes up haha! my suggestion on the wetsuit would be to at least shop the rover by desoto. im not a sales person, but i think it has the potential to revolutionize the industry.

on the watch, it is uncanny in its accuracy but im not sure if its any better than the lap clicker plus nike triad? watch i currently use. it might be cheaper to get the lap clicker with the timer built in on ebay.

So the countdown is on, huh? Started the new year off with a long run since I have a half marathon in 3 weeks. Felt great to be outside getting it done. Hope everyone had a great day and I hope we all have a great year of training.

I was very, very bad in December...but have worked out every day in 2010! The countdown and pressure are on. Will go to the pool tomorrow for the first time in over a month. Started JorgeM's Winter Bike Plan last week...

Morning all,

Another big weekend for me on the bike, repeated the 108 miler (6 lengths of Tortola) of 2 weeks ago, started a little after 4 am and finished a little over 7 hrs later.

Much better ride this time, feel that I got my nutrition and fuild intact correct (or at least much better) and wasn"t really saddle sore this time, but had alot of lower back fatigue again - so core workouts really really really need to begin.

Next weekend I plan back to back metric centuries, then a repeat of the 108 miler, then hopefully I'll be ready for my 375 mile tour of Puerto Rico during the first weekeknd of February - VeultaPR.com (I'm doing 30+ mile rides at least 3 days/week also).

Wow, this is tougher than I thought.  Just getting back off my butt is tough.  I'm trying to stay away from the leftover holiday food still in frig...but it is just so tempting.  Must focus!  Today I'll finish off the leftover hamburgers and swim...may have to trash the cheese cakes, cupcakes, sausage balls, fried chicken...or just really train hard and use that as my excuse to eat these foods for one more week...

HOLY CARP !  I've got an IM to do this year.  Guess I should get off my laurels and do some swimming, biking, running.  time to get serious.

Glad to see your happy Christmas stories.
My daughter got me an indoor/outdoor thermometer so I can decide what to wear on these dark morning workouts from the comfort of my closet.

Here we go, only 10 months to workout before IMFL 2010.

Headed out to the pool at 4:45am this morning - it was 26 F outside, damn cold for Texas, but nothing beats Chlorine in the morning - now only 100 more days in the pool, and I should be ready.

Impressive

I've worked at eating well since October but have ended up gaining weight with so much less training.

It will improve...my training volume is going up each week which helps with this.

Started off the year with an 17 mile "fun run" lol.  Brutal race!!

http://www.athensbigforkmarathon.com/

Everyone talks about how hilly the bike course is at louisville....Well my 18 mile run had more climbing than the entire 112 mile course at louisville lol.  My quads still hurt

Today's inspiration:

I actually ran this morning.  31 degrees is cold on the bare feet.
Did not manage to drag myself out of bed in time to ride the bicycle.
