Blanda - 2011-10-06 6:09 AM Another 5 miles for The World and Canada!

every time I read that it makes me happy for myself because I am a member of The World (although the team) and sad for Canada since it seems to be separate from The World. :-)

Keep up the great work everyone!

Man, that's right! Makes Canada look so lonely. Maybe we should be called "Everywhere Else", lol! Laughing

I feel bad for Canada also but they are 5 minutes from me where I sit right now and I have a hard time putting them with "The World" if they are only 5 minutes away.  Now "The World" is much more like 5 hours away by plane and I am good with you guys being "The World".  I just didn't want to lump sum Canada because a Canadian team hasn't won the Stanley Cup in a long time and I feel bad for them about that.

Or a World Series.

I may be wrong but didn't Jays win World Series more recently than a hockey team - nah that can't be right.  Time for Google!!

Well it was a tie 93 Blue Jays and Canadians won respective championship!

In any case, it's been WAY too long. At least I'm old enough remember both of those (barely )!

Artemis - 2011-10-04 6:13 PM Got in my first (of ten) runs today!!  Holy cow...I am SLOW!  Guess that's what being 31 weeks pregnant does to your body.

Slacker Wink

Yeah yeah.

Congrats Jenn!!!

Yes!!!  Congrats!!!!  I ran through my pregnancy.  I can relate to how you feel.

Thanks!!  It is interesting running right now.  My front/back balance is all screwed up!  I feel like I'm leaning far back to compensate for all the extra weight in the front.

I'm happy I'm still able to run, but it is a bit frustrating that I'm so much slower!

I can imagine that balance is an issue. Good for you for keeping on. Makes my excuses seem a bit weak, however

Got my tempo run in last night.

Lenny - I could have scored CWWC points this morning on my commute - I had a hat, gloves, and fleece on today - brrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

I think your commute should take the CWWC again this year. I did have a couple 32 degree runs last weekend. This weekend looking like 50's.

BikerGrrrl - 2011-10-05 2:59 PM Bill - for the guy who wrote the "no more than 10%" rule, I can't help but notice you ran 43 miles last month yet your goal is 69.  What gives?

Oh did you notice that???  I ran 70 miles recently -  last month was a slow month!

I started a 10K training program and that is what they called for.  I can drop the mileage if you want

I maybe  a rule breaker also, I ran 5 times in September and have already ran 4 times this month. I will have my Sept total passed in the next two days Surprised

All I could think reading your post is - awesome!  Hope shermbelle is on MW team!  Sure enough, so I guess that makes it double awesome!

And here I was happy about it, because I thought we were special! :P But I guess that we aren't all snowflakes...

Gotta get out for another run tonight. This working 11 hours a day plus 1 hour each way of commuting is really putting a dent in my training time!

Ya'll commute an hour each way in Canada?  Who knew?

Good morning! Got a very wind 4 mile run in. The first two miles were horrible, but on the last two miles, I felt like I had someone's hand on my back pushing me along. That's some wind out there.

I have PT this afternoon, so I won't run again today -- maybe bike -- but that' doesn't count in here. And then there's that wind to contend with, so maybe no bike after all. Frown

When I look at the board here is how I see it - the Southeast members have obviously just set super lofty goals so that we must really push our limits and struggle to complete the challenge. We push the envelope down here.  :-p

We walked/ran home from school, I was very tired. We had steak, mashed potatos, and grilled pineapple for dinner. I feel pretty good after the walk/run and dinner.

We were in the 80's earlier this week and 54 today   W/ the snow flying in the higher elevations.  I'm sure it'll eventually make it's way east to the midwest.

I'm OK with this. I'm not in the midwest.

4 miles at a 8:13/mile pace last night.  My right hip has been plaguing me for the last few days, though, and I'm getting worried.

I think it needs to be tasered. Either that, or we can hook you up to a nice Jacob's ladder.

Did an early am run today. It was a "fast" run. I read somewhere that in training one should have a long run, a short fast run, an easy run and a medium tempo each week. Any thoughts on that? Also - pretty lucky where I am - there is a local car dealer who just started his own challenge for getting healthy - grand prize is $5000 cash & $5000 off msrp on a new vehicle. Weight loss, participation in local events, post health tips online are all ways to get points. Should go well with this challenge
