Alpharetta, Georgia | Subject: RE: Triathlon Dating Thread Ver 2.0 mr2tony - 2012-05-08 5:13 PM Hmm. I don't know. I think in a city like New York or London it would be pretty common because it is terribly expensive to live. The cost of living in Chicago, where I'm at now, isn't so prohibitive that people are forced to bunk up. In Wichita I can't imagine it's so pricey that they can't live on their own. And if I recall, Lisa, the guys you date are pretty darned successful, am I right? Yeah of the list on the other page, those guys are: engineer(s), chiropractor, marketing, near-exec in oil industry, near-exec in aircraft industry, finance (in aircraft and oil industries), college professor. ALL of them I know for a fact making upper 5-figure salaries (except the professor, that is unknown), a few of them making 6-figures. Does that make a difference for those of you who thought it was not so strange? Kansas is not an expensive place to live so either they have tons of debt they are trying to manage, or not ready to be independent. Neither good or bad... again just food for thought. To change the subject... how are the dates going? Any exciting ones planned for the weekend? Edited by lisac957 2012-05-10 10:14 AM |

Elite 5145 Cleveland | Subject: RE: Triathlon Dating Thread Ver 2.0 No dates here, and no intentions of persuing any. I've pretty much abandoned Match and the market in general. I'm definitely in a reclusive phase, to borrow your term, and I'm enjoying it very much. If something comes along in that very serendipitous manner that you just cannot ignore, so be it - but aside from that, I'm just going to focus on training, enjoying life, and being me.... quiet my life and settle in for an enjoyable, relaxing summer of possibility |

Working on myself and my training, and if something comes along, awesome; if it doesn't, I'm completely okay with that. That being said, I did meet a really cute girl at OWS a couple weeks ago that I know is racing in the same tri as me this Sunday, so if I see her I might see what the situation is. |

Elite 3770 | Subject: RE: Triathlon Dating Thread Ver 2.0 it KILLS me to have a cat. I had a dog for 12 years, and just am not home enough to take care of one solo (had a lot of help from the parents who watched him during the week). When he passed away, they were saying no more pets, as much as they loved having him, he was easy in his old age. So a cat for me it was. Just no fun. I'm trying, but right now she's difficult. Only a year old, so basically still in puppy stage. Thats kinda the reason I want to have an SO, so I can get a dog. come to think of it, its what I miss the most about my ex...my dog living with me! Sigh. Till I can afford to get my own place with a yard, its not going to happen. I wonder if I can train my cat to run? |

I trained my girl cat to play dead, roll over and to high five. So maybe you could! FYI .. I had a long term BF during the training times and he thought it was adorable! That's awesome! You have to post videos. I had one that would fetch NERF golf balls until you got tired of throwing them. |

As a Dog loving, single guy that has two energic labs, I'd rather go out with someone that has a cat or two.. It can get tough balancing my dogs and someone else's. As far as planning things for an evening or an all day event at least.

I'd prefer a woman that has either a cat or no pets simply because most people's dogs behave like absolute crap and it drives me insane. |

I start with easier screenings, like sandwich preparation. |

Sigh. Till I can afford to get my own place with a yard, its not going to happen. I wonder if I can train my cat to run? I'm super lucky that my dog can roam free in the house, and she also has a dog door and a big enough back yard to run around in. Most of my friends actually joke that the only reason I bought a house was so that I could get a dog, and they're totally right. The day after I signed for my house I wanted to go rescue one from the shelther, and my friends talked me out of it since I still wanted to paint and do some things to the house. The next Saturday, I was first in line at the shelter and rescued this scared little American Bulldog mixed puppy, and it's been the best decision I've ever made. I totally get wanting a dog haha I'd do WHATEVER it takes to have one if I didn't already. |
