Cheers TAN.  Everyone have a three day weekend or just me?

for the president's day?  that's nice!  i don't, and just realized i will almost definitely be working over the weekend to attempt to catch up.  sigh.

It took me by surprise as well (like most holiday, honestly).  But this one in particular.  I think it's one of those "floating" days and they picked presidents day as one (the day after thanksgiving is the other.

I think your IT people have to give you access to Lync with anyone outside of your organization.

You know what I like about a small company?

Skype and Google Chat.

my last company (medium sized - maybe 5k employees worldwide) sourced it's email functions to google so we had INTERNAL gchat (which has a video option!)

here we use lotus notes so we use their integrated conferencing service which sounds much like lync.

this is some boring tan talk!  who's got V-DAY PLANS?

Working late, take-out, and getting ready to be the only crew member for my friend's 24 hour solo MTB race tomorrow.

Best v-day ever?

Paddling into the intercoastal, tying off to other kayaks/canoes, passing around beer and sandwiches, and watching the demolition of a 30 story residental high-rise.

Damn,

So jealous.  I need to dust my MTB off.  We had a short lived MTB race series here in Vegas but it ran into problems.

MTBing is the phunest...

Dropped another 1k on the dogs.  Got their teeth cleaned and found out we needed several extractions, including a molar on each dog.  That's what they said happens when they don't brush.

Seriously, when did brushing dog's teeth become part of care?  I NEVER did, or heard of that growing up.

As you may or may not know, Shi Tzus have an massive under-bit already.  Well they lost their top front teeth so now they look like and old man without their dentures and make the under-bite even MORE noticeable.  Guess I need to get used to it.

Duke chews so much, so often, that I've never, ever cleaned his teeth - and I get complimented on how clean they are... but now his canines are flat! I think when he's old, he'll be on a wet-food-only diet.

Growing up our dog also had an underbite (hilarious!) and the vet ALWAYS recommended brushing his teeth. I remember sitting in the vets office with my mom watching a video on how to brush a dogs teeth. We laughed out lout at it. We never did, of course, but this was in the 80s and they were telling us that back then. As he got older his teeth fell out and he had to be fed soft food only. It was kinda sad

My dog has had his teeth cleaned 3x in his almost 10 years - I'm hoping that will prevent any extractions or major issues down the road...

We felt so sad for our little guy.  He was kind of "moaning" all night.  Broke our heart.  Even with the prescribed pain meds.  We have some older ones we never used up after another incident.  Obviously being careful to not overdose, I may slip him another half dose to help him sleep.

Ha! I used to work at SchmApplebees. I do not set foot in there unless the kiddo gets to pick (and we are not near an Outback - Outback is #1 choice FOR LIFE for him). I still have bad dreams about waiting tables, to this day. I dream about people placing specific food and drink orders, it's creepy.

Man, the wife loves Valentines day so got up early to give me a card and some packages of Valentine's candy...  Of course we are going out for a nice dinner (on SUNDAY, though).

Now I feel I need to reciprocate.  So a card of course.  But we don't need more candy.  I think something more fun could be a home made cake or something from a local Bundt cake store that makes a KILLER cake...  I'm just tired of having treats and snacks in the house

But something about Valentines steamed asparagus misses the mark.

You must love Ricky Bobby the same as I love Caddy Shack. I used to caddy at the country club when I was a kid and, believe me, the characters in that movie are real. Especially the bishop playing in the rainstorm. I caddied a guy who shot 66 in what started out as a drizzle.

I had roses, cupcakes, my favourite snack food (pretzels) and a card delivered to my desk at lunch.  YAY!

Tonight is going out to a new sushi place that isn't even open yet, but Tony knows a guy who knows another guy and got us in to their super secret dinner tonight.

My wife and I have done soemthing every night this week together, all things were her choice (except for one) so tonight, we will actually just chill at the house since the kiddos are gone. Tomorrow night I am taking the whole family to see the new Lego movie!  I am actually looking forward to it!

FYI....cats LOVE to eat flowers.....then throw up...usually in the middle of the night and on your comforter.

I did a scavenger hunt in our house one time, with clues to where the flowers were hidden. She got through one clue then realized the cats were pawing at a kitchen cabinet. She was a good sport and found the other clues though.

That was your girlfriend hacking up a hairball. She just blamed it on the cat.

So I went with a card and I will make home made devil's food cupcakes decorated with pink icing and heart shaped red-hots...

The whole thing makes me shudder, but it's the "rules".

Morning TAN!
Well I've been making lots of sawdust! I've made a few pens and even had a friend of mine ask me to make one for him. Next I think I'll try wooden stemmed wine glasses but I'm starting to have a list of things I need to make for people.
