Dork ^^^^^

I'm not on a high horse, asking a legitimate question.  What research can you site that points to shoes causing midfoot pain? Wink  I can point to a lot of reasons for foot pain that having NOTHING to do with shoes.

oh, i don't have horse in this fight.... ha!  you of all people around here should know about that.

Could be that your foot's not stable.

swbkrun - 2011-06-13 10:52 AM    As for racing.... NADA, ZILCH, ZERO, NOTHING.... Haven't signed up for anything at all.  I still go out and "train" with people that are much more motivated than me, but I am usually bringing up the rear.

Birdy ..... Those of us that have been already been through this usually refer to this as the "Breeding and Blimping" training plan!

Be Careful!!!  Laughing

Barefoot and pregnant.....   Innocent

Okay.....to all of our PNW people....I'll be up in Seattle next week to celebrate our 25th(!!) wedding anniversary.  I just made reservations for Canlis because it looks so good online.   Anybody been there?  Got a review?  A better idea??  Know an owner somewhere with pull?

I think we're staying at the Pan Pacific, but I'm not sure.  Any suggestions would be great.

Have never been to Canlis but heard wonderful things. Expect a full review, as I'd like to go!!! One restaurant we like is Crush, if you have another dinner to fill. How long are you here? Would love to see you, but kids are out of school (i.e. in tow) and I'd hate to ruin anything romantic. Oh, and I also leave town next Thursday for a race.

Sounds like everybody's training and racing has been going well.  You guys are still very inspiring to me, even though I haven't been around lately!

I've been doing my PT exercises religiously, rollerblading some, and swimming a bit (though everything has been pulling because I don't want to do much sudden straightening with my knee).  Biking is tough because it really hurts to climb hills, so I have only done that a couple times and I just granny gear up hills.  PT is staying optimistic, so I'm still hoping to get in some races at the end of the season, but until then, I'm just Ryan's support team for the HIM that is coming up quick!

To the PNW people, I SHOULD be better by the time I get to Portland in late August, so let me know what races you guys have done or are doing that I should look into!  So far, the Portland Marathon and Half are full, but I think I want to try to do the Run Like Hell HM in October.  Other than that, no plans!

Have a good week all!

I've heard good things about Canlis too.  I've never been there, but a good friend of mine growing up is a Chef there.  Not that that will do you, or me, any good - I just like to drop names whenever I can

Have a great trip and congrats on 25 years!!

Hey guys, I'm sure some of you remember when our friends lost their 2 year old daughter in a car collision last September.  The verdict is coming in today in the trial of the 16 year old girl that caused the collision.  If you're praying types, I'd ask that you just pray for peace for the family, it has been a very difficult trial for everyone.

i freakin' ate it HARD on my run at lunch.  it was hysterical!!!  i joined another trail and looked back to see if anyone was coming up the hill.  before i could turn around BOOM.. down i go.  bloody knee, bloody hand, etc...  the only part that sucked was there was nobody there to witness it and laugh at me.

Awww man... was this before or after we spoke? Ouch!!

True story -- once upon a time I went for a run a day or two after returning from my 20th college reunion (I know, I know, I don't look nearly that old, thank you )... My body was exhausted, only I didn't really realize it. I totally bit it on the trail, and had rocks embedded in my knee. Actually had to go to the doc to get it flushed out. LAME!!! I still have the scar!! (And yeah, was alone, no one saw me.)

My son saw me go down on my injury run. I don't think he got a kick out of that so much as the words that spewed out of my mouth in very loud volume after. Doh!!

Clean your wounds my friend and be careful out there!! Injuries suck!!

Kyla- Congrats to Keller! You are an amazing mom and athlete! I am so in awe of you. It has been a joy to watch your journey these last few years, my friend.

Linda, Kim, and Cheri- Great job representing in Cali last weekend! I'm looking forward to reading the race reports.

John- Ouch! You do get 10 points for leaving blood on the trail though Have fun in OBX! I loved it when we were there in November. I'll bet it's even better when it's warm.

Rob- Sorry about the confusion at your race, but sounds like you did awesome! 12 minutes is huge!

Congrats to any other racers I've missed! I'll be reading RR's tomorrow.

Well, well, well....another week is flying by which means it's time to talk about RACING!!!!  Who is planning to do a little something?

If you're not racing, check in with us and let us know how your training is going so far...any ups? downs (Fatty!)? Ahead of your plan or scrambling to keep up?
