Ooh, I'd like that translation too. I've kinda gotten use to the new site and although I agree with some of the complaints, overall I'm ok with it.

I'm actually OK with the site.  I do think that some of the training log stuff is improved.  I didn't think that I'd the new way of logging but it's actually good because I can type of my description, and then upload if I like whereas before you had to upload first.

I just am getting really frustrating with some of the things that used to work and now don't.  I used to be able to reply to inspires and always get a quote.  Now it's like 50/50 if I get the quote.  ARG!

And the weather has been broken forever.  If they are going to redo the site, couldn't the fix the weather?!

I know that Chris has had some frustrations with nutrition when used to work and now, not so much.

And the super duper feature that I really wanted was improved privacy levels.  I want weight to be a separate privacy setting.  pfft.

But yeah, overall it's fine and improving.  It's the people that make the site and as long as we stay here...

Nah, Salty and I aren't privately bantering (too much) although this is a recent favorite from her: "Additionally, I see there is something like a 20 x 50 WU tomorrow? (censored) you"

Very happy to see Fachmie has become a phrase around here that shyte makes me laugh every day. WHOPPER TIME

Mutti and I are doing well, she's just having meltdowns because Kristin (helper) is off this week and any change in her EXACT schedule and structure (down to the texture of her veggies--no joke) really throws her off (very common with Alzheimer's folks). It's kind of like caring for a very social 3-year-old with Asperger's. She's also not quite well but who knows, age, change, grief, getting over the Hep C and treatment, all of the above, could be anything, if it continues for very long or really worsens we'll pursue more aggressive options (have been taking her to the doc and also extensive dental work--could also have been chronic low-grade infections from her teeth, from the effed-up work done by the dentist who was my dad's mistress. Probably also where she got the Hep C. Our new dentist, who is excellent, is APPALLED).

Business is slowly slowly getting cleared up but it's a frickin' nightmare to put it mildly and seems like there's a new crisis every day. We have three separate ongoing court procedures, and that's not getting into all the complicated under-the-table stuff. Good news is we were able to fire our Director, but cleaning up her shady deals and the mess of her wake is crap, not to mention whoever's left that we're keeping a sharp eye on.

Am making minute glacial progress on my own writing/books, just bare minimum to keep clients/agents/publishers happy.

Ironman training is in full swing. It's my salvation.

Pretty much all I think about is food and sleep. Can't seem to get enough of either

Pic of me and Mutti on today's morning walk. No, I'm not pregnant, although both of us look pretty tired! Also a better one, my brother took us out for late birthday/Mother's Day brunch (he's frequently out of town on business). However I also look like a drowned rat, just finished a swim workout Mutti is 80 this year, no makeup, and yes her skin is that amazing. I would like to look like that NOW ...

Fachmie you are one busy woman.  I honestly don't know how you find the time to manage all you do, and still fit in full on Ironman Training.

You are truly an inspiration.

Since you only bit one peck last time - I'm sending you more {{{ Peck Presses }}}

Team USA Age-Up Rule
At 2013Nationals, athletes will race in their appropriate age groups based on their age as of December 31, 2013. Awards will be issued based on those results. If an athlete "ages up" into another age group in 2014, a separate set of results will be issued accounting for those athletes who aged up and Team USA slots will be awarded based on these results. So their finish time will be compared to those athletes in the older age group. For example, if John Doe is going to be 49 years old by December 31, 2013, he will age-up up into the 50-54 age group for the 2014 World Championships since he will be 50 years old by December 31, 2014. Thus, for Team USA qualifying purposes, his time at the qualification event will be compared to the men currently in the 50-54 age group. We will post the age-up results at the awards ceremony.

I read this as you will compete in the 25 -29 age group this year - awards for THIS YEARS race will be based on your time against the other 25 - 29 year olds.

To determine if you are on Team USA and go to the World Championships - your time from this year will be compared to the 30 - 34 year olds from this year, because  if  when you qualify, you will be competing in the 30 - 34 age group at the NEXT YEARS World Championships.

Turns out your understanding of Engrish was just fine after all.

P.S. I'm also busy because I'm a mod in, I kid you not, THREE other forums.

P.P.S. I'm also STILL trying to find a 2nd caretaker for Mutti ... WTF, in a 3rd world country with nearly as many people as the U.S., nobody wants a job?!

I've sent out over 200 inquiries to folks specifically advertising/seeking a housekeeper/nanny position. Of those, about 20 have replied (mostly out of politeness, in the negative). 2 have interviewed; we offered both of them the position and both declined.

And yes, they understood they'd be SHARING duties with another caretaker, in a house that will have EIGHT total staff for one little old lady, and sometimes me or my sister.

Things are also about to go postal in Bali with the Bali Marathon, Bali Triathlon, and Bali Ocean Swim all coming up in the next four weeks. Heavily involved with all three.

P.P.P.S. I ate everything in my room, which is a half-pound bag of pistachios and half a banana left over from my long ride today (over 12 hours ago, it was pretty gross) ... and I'm still hungry.

Are transportation costs included?  If so, I'll take the job.  Before you accept - you must first understand that I am in no way qualified, or certified as a caretaker.  I am however a hit with senior citizen ladies...they all love me.

While in Bali, I will also be available as your training partner, confident, azz kicker (of people at your fathers business that need their azzes kicked), swim buddy, and of course I can travel around the world competing at triathlons with you.

This list is by no means complete - feel free to add other tasks to it (R rated tasks can be emailed to me privately)!!!

3. I will be competing in the Milk Mile (glass of milk every quarter) July 14th.

4. I can hardly walk today from yesterdays workout.

Sorry to hear about your loss.

I think I was smoking crack when I wrote this. You should do it anyway.

S3: Endurance + consistent mental focus

WU: 20x50 @1:00 (or interval = moderate effort but only ~:05R)

MS1: 3x200 free @4:20 (snerk) with FOUR butterfly kicks off each wall streamline before swim

MS2: 4 rounds – 25 back swim / 25 back kick @1:30, 100 free @2:10

CD: 300 EZ

1. I am really, really sorry. I know how much you, and she, wanted to be able to do that last ride ... heavy memories. So painful to lose a loved one, so early in life.

2. Blanche was my favorite I love the names Blanche, Bianca, Blanca ...

3. I could do a Milk Mile! I still say you and I should do that eating triathlon (in addition to our Full Contact Coconut Aquatri)

4. Good.

Ummmmm - That is not a WARM up....(the no more than 5 seconds rest part disqualifies it from being a warm up) - or did I read that wrong?

Not sure I like so much how things with the races have been over simplified. I haven't really noticed dates on race reports. There is nothing to say what year that report was for. That can matter a lot with various conditions and situations differing from year to year.

Yes, I submitted that as an issue.  Please pile on!  We need names and dates and the year by year thing isn't clear.  BT seems to be emphasizing the review over the details.  Are they getting pressure from outfits that use the BT reviews in their promo material?

No idea on that one.

Have they done away with Official Threads? I really liked how we could go to the race page and on it the discussions for previous years were all linked there. They do have a nice short hand page for race reports with links to the full report by individuals, but again, there are no dates associated with it, so can't tell if something was going on one year or whatever. For example, is swimming through the heavy weeds a regular issue or did they just goof one year?

The threads are still there under "Iron Distance Race Groups" in the forums.  The links to past years may not be though.  Now why it's called that is another matter altogether!

The ones previously started are still there, both long course in the Iron Distance Group and short course in their respective state forums. But can new ones be made? I tried for a short course I might do, but couldn't find anything familiar in getting it going. Long course was the same process before, it just went to the Iron Distance Group instead of the state forum.

For others following this, previously if I started an Official Thread for a short course race in say Wisconsin, that thread would automatically go to the Wisconsin State forum. A long course race (like Racine 70.3 or Rev3 Dells half) would go to the Iron Distance Group. Currently I don't see how to make an official thread at all.

Once you've added a race, you can create a race group by using the Start a Race Group link in the right side of your training blog in the Upcoming Races section.

It's not that bad.  For masters we do 8x50 on 1:05 after our 900y warmup.  1:05 is a pretty easy interval for us to make.

Haha, thank you!

Geeze. I read the dang thing multiple times and was having the hardest time wrapping my brain around it.

Actually, in the beginning I thought if one qualified, it would be for the 2013 WC, which I thought was kind of nuts to have to turn around and be race ready/book your INTL. travel blah blah blah.

I agree on Must.Have.Pictures.

Milk mile?  Sounds worse that the beer mile--course I don't like either.

Help! My understanding of the Engrish language has extreme limitations. I am currently 29, will be 30 March 31, 2014. According to the Age-Up rule, will my qualification be based off of the 30-34 AG because I will be 30 by December 31, 2014?

Holy shyte, qualifying for Worlds will be based on your performance in the 30-34 age group? I better step up your training plan pronto

Oh Salty you're screwed

Seriously, I made a Jake the Dog costume for myself two years ago for Boo at the Zoo--my coworker was Finn--I made her hat; We were like total rock stars that night! Kids wanted their pictures taken with us and everything---I have got to find photos of that....I still have my Jake suit...not a surprise, as I have kept all of my costumes...I am probably making a Tiger Salamander suit for this year.

Oh yeah, I decided last night (with some help from my Connecticut cousin who is joining me) that I will be running the 2014 San Francisco Marathon. So should I start training now?!?!? Sealed
