On the program today: core/strength after work (around 4:30 PM) and bike hill repeats later tonight, after the rush hour is over (around 7 PM). I think I will arrange to have the front-line folks contact my colleague if I get paged during the bike. |

Veteran 147 SC | Subject: RE: Kamikaze Geckos This is what I did yesterday afternoon: 1. Ride for 30 minutes last 5 minutes at race pace. (last 5 minutes @ 23 MPH) 2. Quick transition to the run 3. 1st mile @ 7:25 to 7:40 pace (completed in 7'18") 4. 2nd mile @ 7:15 to 7:30 pace (completed in 7'25") 5. 4 minute recovery 6. 5 x 800 @ 6:40 to 6:50 pace. RI = 1:1 (rest interval = total run time) #1 6'53" #2 7' #3 7'08" #4 7'21" #5 7'30" 7. 10 minute easy run for cool down I completely fell apart (Kamikazed!)on the last two 800's. I litterally thought my heart was going to burst out of my chest. I'm hoping to get in 20 miles or so on the bike after work. Train Hard Geckos! bh |

They cut of my internet a day early at my old house, the twits, so I was sans internet access for 1.5 days...that's enough to drive me batty. All in all, the move went realitively smoothly (minus the internet fiasco) and I am now a Milwaukee resident. No training the past couple of days due to the move and finishing packing, but I wonder if moving boxes and stuff could count as a strength training session ? Lord knows I have enough bruises to show for it....I will be working w/ my PT today, and will work on getting back on schedule tomorrow (I have to join a gym up here...) |

One of my favorites in the pool. Yes. (I'm having flashbacks of High School Swim Team Practices right now. And that was a veryyyyyyyy long time ago! LOL) But I've been fighting "swimmer's shoulder," so I don't want to overstress that joint either. (It took months to get over that. And it's ok if I'm careful about my technique.) I should be ok in a day or two. My knee is a weak spot. (And my shoulder now, I guess.) Thanks for the suggestion though!
You sound like you are falling apart. But, keep up the training |

You sound like you are falling apart. But, keep up the training Sure! Hold on, let me collect my arm. It fell off this morning.... Oh, and here's a leg. Hold on while I superglue it back to my hip.... OK, where was I?.. Oh yeah, of COURSE I'll keep training. |

LOL I agree, moving is hard work. That's why I'm staying here. Um, for now, anyway. Being online all the time is something I've become so accustomed too...it's very difficult. Add on top of that the fact that I couldn't check my work email (which I was hoping to be able to do...I'm the manager here...gotta keep up on stuff) and I was ready to blow smoke. The cable company couldn't get anyone out there to reconnect it, so they are giving me a $50 credit. If I'd actually missed work because of it, I probably would have gone after lost wages or something. |

Nope, no brick/race bonus this month. (Probably because I didn't think about adding it to the guidelines. But oh well. There's always next month. ) |
