Wow 30 weeks! That is nuts. Seems so close now. I keep thinking I have all the time in the world. When you put it like that it seems like it is right around the corner.

amymengel - 2009-02-01 4:25 PM Me too, Maura.  The competitive "be iron fit" is the plan I used last year.  I'm using it again this year.  It starts tomorrow!  I plan on really hitting it hard this year!!

great,, there goes any chance I had of finishing within an hour or so of ya

I might have to look up that plan to see what it is about

I just looked at that 30 week plan and it looks pretty good. It does help to keep you moving in the right direction when you are following a plan. The off-season is always hard to keep on track.

Anyone have a link to this plan?  Thanks.

Not sure if he has a site with the plan on it, I know he has it in his book.

There's a 29 week Powerbar plan that looks pretty good.  I'll have to post the link tonight when I get on my home computer.

This whole site is very helpful.  There are a lot of articles that will help with all aspects of iron training, especially nutrition - pre, during, and post race.

Thanks for the link.  This looks like a pretty solid plan but I'm fairly new to this.  What are other people's thoughts?

Reading this thread seems like a dejavu from last year.  I swear it looks like everyone who did IMKY last year is going back for more.  Me too!  I'm Tam, your cheerful IMKY volunteer and will be once again be assisting y'all in your racing endeavours!   Because some of you have been hounding me relentlessly, this will be my last year as a volunteer. Next year I race!   You guys better go back one more time to keep me company!

I will be there with you Tam!!!  I considered taking this year off and then coming back in 2010, but the peer pressure was too much and I registed for this year as well.  It is wonderful you will be with us again this year!!  Having you catch me at the finish line was the perfect finish to the race.  I have a feeling lots of people will be going back again in 2010.  Wow - won't that be a great year!!! You will be an ironman!!!

Thanks for your help last year and this year.  I promissed my wife I wouldn't do THIS ironman next year.   So I'll have to volunteer next year.

TriAya - 2009-01-30 1:52 PM Is anyone else using one of Don Fink's 30-week plans (and therefore starting on Sunday or Monday) as well?

30 weeks? Holey moley!  Is this like a couch-to-ironman plan?  :-

I'm using the Rogillio 's infamous swim-bike-run-as-much-as-my-body-can-stand-and-w/o-going-insane IM plan.

~Mike

Does this plan come with a free day-glow t-shirt for race day????

I'll probably be back. My race MO seems to be 'find a great race that I like and stick with it'. It's a great race...even if I have to deal with Mr Abs making fun of my dago shirt.

Hey Abbie, you got a problem wit dat?! :-)

All right Tammy! If you're going I'll be there. No doubt about it. As a volunteer. It'll be my wife's year for an Ironman so no race for me. I'm sure I'll see you at a few races this year before IMKY.

I so have a good comeback for that one.  But I'll let Mike fight his own battle.
