Talking of albums, I finally decided to post the pictures of my races of 2008. Still have some to post but most of them are there.

Having to resize all the pics to get them under 200k is a long though ...

I did some thinking and here are my new goals for the month.

Running, was 140km now I will go for 155km.

Riding stays the same.

Swimming, was 14000m now I will go for 16000m.

I changed the spreedsheat and sent a PM to Slugger. Now I am heading out in a nice -30C to run for 30 minutes ...

Ok, I just took a look at all the spreadsheets and we are 4th team. I don't see this as a bad sign, just as another goal, we have to push harder to get in 1st

We have to push harder to get the workouts done, we're now at 35%  and the leading team is around 39.5%. I know it's not always easy to get them done but every little bit counts for the challenge.

Lets push as hard as we all can, and make sure that we log our workouts in the spreadsheet.

I am heading out of town for the week end, I will see you all tomorrow night. Have a great one.

Go Grit Go!!!

ceilidh - 2009-01-16 9:31 PM I live in western NC in a small town near Asheville called Lake Lure. I just posted a photo (I think) in my album. Which is the only way I know how to post a photo.

You have a really nice house

Thanks, It has bandaids on its pipes today. It is a little sad.

I'll do my part. I get to swim on Sunday and Monday! If they aren't too full I'll get some dreadmill time in as well.

Grits will rock em in the end. We have some folks with more time in the last of the month.

It'll be interesting to see Sluggers take on the standings since she's taking other factors into consideration

in my view, we're doing pretty well

Kristin has had one of the most stressful months a person can have - the fact that she's gotten any training in the books is amazing IMHO - I dropped out of the challenge when I moved in September

Amy is in the thick of exams and having a hard time finding time to come up for air - she's gotten a couple of swims in and her exams are over soon.  She got a swim in this week, but just hasn't updated the spreadsheet - I'll do that for her this evening if she hasn't done it by ther

Robert and Roni both upped their goals so that's cool - no sandbagging going on

the rest of us are plugging along at a steady pace

so no matter what the standings turn out to be - we are a team with

True Grit!!!

JMHO

That being said - lets' all get out there and challenge ourselves!

Have a great day!

Hey team. I got in a swim tonight, although it likely doesn't matter since I didn't make 30% by yesterday. I'll go ahead and log it anyway. Today was another struggle. But the swim was good. Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Hi team,

it sure is quiet in here today.  Everyone must be out and about.

I just finished the hardest and longest run of my life.  My first time doing a double digit run!

Mornin all!

Nice job on the run Beth!!!!

Well I picked up the rollers this weekend.  This will take some time to master.  I got in about 10min last night and only let go of the wall a couple of times for a max of 30sec.  After my whole body had the shakes for awhile.  I think the combo of being so new to bikeing and just rollers themselves I am having to concentrate and use every muscle (at least it feels like it) in my body to say on the darn things.   I think once I get the hang of it though I'm going to like it.

Side note:  Is Spring here yet?

Good morning! Nice job on the rollers! I've heard rollers are pretty challenging even for experienced cyclists. The fact that you are new to cycling and learning the rollers too is very impressive! KIU!

Good morning teamies! I got in a swim and short run over the weekend. It wasn't as much as I planned, but not too bad considering the traveling and family time. It did occur to me that I ran in 3 different states in the last 4 days! That's kinda cool A bike and swim are on tap for today, maybe a run too if I get time. Hope everyone has a great day!!!

Yeah it's really cool

I was planning to go swim during my lunch hour but finally had to change my plan, so I will run to the pool and swim tonight instead. I was hoping more for a go to bed early and relax to be honest ...

Hey everyone! Long time no talk.  You guys are all doing amazing!  Sorry I haven't checked in.  I've still been doing my workouts though.  by day I've been busy with work and workouts and by night I've been a party animal!  I have some pcitures to post of my own 1790's house and from my run this afternoon.

I'm glad the 30% rule is out so Kris can keep her perfect challenge streak alive!  Good luck in NYC this weekend Beth and K!  Robert, I though my 12F runs were cold.  I can't complain anymore.  Rollers!  That's awesome!  Roni, how do you find places to swim driving around like that!  Awesome work.

I need to  increase my run total for this challenge.  I'm at 40 and have at least 20 more this week alone (initial goal of 50).

Well, off to finish dinner.  Udon noodle, tofu, orange pepper, brocoli stir fry with honey ginger teriyaki marinade,  mmm mmm mmm.  The Napa Cab is my prep cook.

Morning team

Just got back from a nice morning run, it was really nice outside today.

Happy to see you Rob, we missed you around here. Running at 12F isn't easy either, as long as we get out and do something it's all good.

What is everyone up to today?

Good morning teamies! I'm heading back to Pasco, WA today, and will be there for the next few weeks. So, my consistency will be alot better. It's always hard when traveling, but I did manage to get something in most days. My HIM training starts Saturday, so my numbers will really pick up the last week of the challenge. Great training everyone, and hope you all have a fantastic day!!!

Hey all. Today is Bike day for me. In between watching the festivities. It will be indoor for sure. It is windy windy windy again. Can you tell I hate wind?

Just gotta say, since she didn't... Roni did the 100 pushups yesterday! WTG Roni!
