SSMinnow - 2011-02-26 3:19 PM You guys are a bunch of jinx's!!!  I do a drop in Master's class today and the entire flippin thing was devoted to bilateral breathing!  Good for me, but good lord!

HAHAHA ok that is too funny. That sucks but it is too funny.

I managed to get a 45 min very light easy spin on my bike today... I actually sweat a tiny bit at the end. Knee was just a bit stiff at the end...

Advil and Ice now. Not for pain as much as precaution.

hope everyone is having a GREAT weekend.

No pain=no advil! A certain amount of inflammation also has the ability to speed healing and you will slow down that process.  I am living proof of it....google prolotherapy if you want to understand where I'm coming from.

Very interesting. I have been avoiding the advil and got told today that I shouldn't be. I think the Major part of my inflammation is now gone. I do believe it is minor. But I am NOT a fan of meds of any sort.  So this makes me even happier to read this.

I would say on a scale of 1-10 for pain I was about a 0.5 to a 1 today after my spin... More TIGHTNESS then any pain or soreness.

OMG I take it back I just watched a VIDEO on that...and almost threw up...I NEVER want to have to go through that. I HATE needles.

Sweet bike day...

Finished first lap of a 2 lap hilly route outside.

Starting the 2nd lap flying down a big steep hill.  Get to make a right hand turn to go up another hill and my rear derailleur cable snaps.  So Riding back up hill in the 11, sweet.

Picked up cables as I am a dumba$$ and realized I forgot to change cables last year on my road bike so these are pretty nasty.

Put the bike up on the stand tonight, got everything re-cabled, decided to work on the brakes just to double check and notice that something is wrong with my rear wheel, it's making a hard dive to one side every revolution.  Turns out the rim has a serious dent in it from a pothole I hit last weekend I guess.

I have a spare rear wheel sitting around so I can ride but no PT on the other wheel so now I need to take it out to get it completely rebuilt.

Had a fun work out today
The 3100m swim went great. Drove Home tinkered around watch the Kona again then of on my ride of course the wind start at 13mph from the West but on the 2nd loop they kicked up to 30mph West barely able to do 7-9mph heading West then practically laying down heading North and South Though East was more fun. Then starting on my 3rd lap the wind kicked up to 30mph with 50mph Gust from the West So I dug in even though I was getting sand blasted wondering what the heck I was doing but continued anyway until I got called out so I had to turn back. I did get in my transition run and it was the best I ever had was relaxed and legs felt pretty fresh and a surprising pace I wasn't expecting especailly after the 1st few I have done those seemed like work this one was fun

John - You ROCK!  Super cool.

Tony - I hope you can get that taken care of.  That really stinks.  I hope today is better!

I'm really just on here to procrastinate my run for this morning...  It's only a 6 miler, but we got some fresh powder last night that is tough to even walk in.  That combined with living up a steep hill means not so much fun....  Ryan's out on a 14-miler right now though, so I guess I shouldn't complain too much!

Great job John!  Always nice to get on the podium.

Just finished my last hard workout yesterday.  My quads feel like a ran a marathon yesterday.  Not sure what that means.  I haven't quite gotten in the training that I wanted but I've done the best I could given the curve balls I was thrown this winter.  So 21 days and counting until the pain begins.

x2....Just rescheduled mine to this PM due to snow this morning (Shoveling.....AGAIN!) and now I don't have enough time before breakfast plans to get the run in.  Maybe the sidewalks will melt between then and now (looking for the upside) or off the dreadmill I go.

Nice work John!!!

HA, This morning rode down to Georgetown for the team group ride, had my coffee while waiting for everyone to show up.  Everyone gets there I then notice that I can move my front wheel from side to side touching the brake pads (while theyre open) while it's firmly on the ground (hard to explain).  They all take off I am still sitting there messing with my bike.

I am not even sure what would cause that but made me think, too sketchy to ride in a group with the wheel like that.  Rode back home, put another front wheel on and it is fine, I am pretty sure it was the same pothole that did this also, but not sure what would make the wheel so loose like that.

So going to do some nasty hill repeats to punish myself, be back in a bit : )
