Happy Wednesday peeps!  I know of at least one dude who is just days away from a really BIG EVENT, are there others? spill the beans.

Seems like everyone wants to do Linda's Tahoe event so let's talk race bucket list.  What race would you love to do and when?

The biggest reason behind doing this Tahoe event is to set up my expectations for next year's inaugural IM Lake Tahoe!!  Can't wait.  Also on my bucket is list IM OZ and IMNZ.  Lanzarote, too.  Both IM Canadas......

No racing for me, but I do get to do the full 2.4 MOO swim on Sunday!  My OWS coach is taking out 24 of us to test the new one loop course.  Accompanying us will be 9 kayaks and 3 motor boats.

My bucket list includes this race.  I figure if I can swim in the cold waters of Lake Superior I've come a long way.  Not sure when it will actually get crossed off.

I know I"ve been MIA for quite a while but wanted to pop in and wish my fellow Canadian ironman a great race!  I know you'll kill it.  And just think, you won't have to wear that silly neck thing this year! Wink  Lots of love and luck coming your way!

I agree!  I think we were all a little embarrased for Trev.

No racing for me, I'm still not sure my left ankle has settled enough to risk it, my fantasy race is IM France, those mountains around Provence are beautiful and Nice is a fun place, I wish we could have seen Lance race it this year...

Good luck Trevor!!!

No racing for me = more time to sit around eating pancakes and tracking Trevor! Good luck, Trev!

Bucket list races. This one looks pretty cool. Maybe some day. In the meantime, I might have to go run the Hippie Half in MI just to get the shirt for John.

Haven't made it to the Big Island yet, we leave early tomorrow AM to fly into Kona.  Spent the day today at Waikiki beach, did a bit of surfing, eating and drinking, I logged all the swimming I did helping our son surf, he wasn't strong enough to paddle the board back out so he would catch a wave and I would swim in and drag him back out.

We'll be meeting up with Roni sometime in the next few days I think.  Sam and son did a yoga class on the beach this morning while daughter and I slept in.  We went to a luau last night.

Any thoughts on must do's while in Kona?

If you have any desire of pursuing anything scuba or want a great boat snorkel trip (I'm guessing -- I've only done scuba trips with them), but go to Jack's Diving Locker. WE LOVE THEM!!! We have dived with them numerous times over the last 20 years and they are awesome. Of course eat at Lava Java!! And there was a tiny hole-in-the-wall sushi place we loved, but I forget the name -- something like Roll Your Own or something?

No racing here.  I'd love to do an IM in the US, but that probably won't happen for another couple of years - probably an IM that happens when it is not 90 degrees or higher.   The other race I'd love to is Kona, but that is probably not going to happen.  Maybe I'll do the Honu HIM instead.

hmmmmm....trying to decide if I am the old guy or the aero guy....maybe a not so old, not so aero guy.

Not sure we're going to have time to do any snorkeling while there tomorrow but Lava Java looks good as does you make the roll?  Maybe that's the place.

Any sights worth seeing while in Kona?  We have a book but haven't had a chance to read it yet on where to go when there.

Good luck Trevor!

I have no races or a bucket list. I would like to run without pain again someday. That is it.

Yesterday was tough. I found out that a close fraternity brother committed suicide two days ago. I went to school and graduated with him. He was a very positive and outgoing guy. Apparently he suffered a traumatic brain injury in a bicycling accident about a decade ago and was subject to mood swings ever since. I never saw him during the depths so this comes as quite a shock. I will miss him.

Hug your family today, you never know what tomorrow will bring.

I am really sorry for your loss.  It is those types of things that remind me how lucky we are to have good health.  And even though you are working through an injury, you still have good health, a great family and a bunch of MG'ers who want to see you succeed.

Even though we do the annual trip to Hawaii, I have little insight into what to do in Kona other than hit up the volcano.  Paul and I did go to lunch everyday at this bar by a beach that was a great whale watching spot.  They had great fish tacos.  Does that help?
