Rynamite - 2008-07-17 8:35 AM I just talked to a girl named Brittany Skye. Sounds like a stripper or a porn star or something.

Uh...possibly because there is a porn star by that name?

And you would know this how....?

You trying to get another TAN pulled?

No - just picking on ya

Oh, and fixed...

I remember a lot of guys from football that would get so worked up they would puke. Almost all of them were out of gas before the game was over.

Yeah, I did too.  I never did lose it.  Probably because I knew the value of the fuel. At least sub-consciously.

Completely off-subject, but I was bad and slept in my contacts last night and now my left eye is all red and hurty... So I'm rockin' one contact right now until I can go home at lunch and put in a new pair.

I was always the guy in the corner not saying a word and moving very slowly. I was the quiet focused guy trying to stay out of the way of the dumbasses burning it all off slamming heads into lockers and screaming.

Pulled that accidental move in college once.  Was not fun trying to PRY the eyes open the next morning.

That's like wrestling season.

AT the beginning of a dual meet, each wrestler goes out and shakes the hand of his opponent.  I always knew I could beat the ones who came out running, slapping their feet, and tried to intimidate me with some gorilla grip.  I usually let them go like gangbusters until the second period.  By that point, they were wiped out.

It was the quiet ones that were trouble.  They were much more focused on what they were doing.

Haha, actually I fare quite well. When I was having problems with that eye last fall, I'd wear my glasses during the day and then pop in one contact to go running - was fine. I wouldn't bike like this and swimming might be weird, but running was just fine. My left eye isn't as bad as my right, so it's only slightly fuzzy with just one in.

BTW, this is my last day around BT for a while. I'm off the net from tomorrow AM to the end of next week. Just so no one thinks I went for an OWS and didn't come back or something.

Yeah, as of Saturday, I may not have internet at my house for almost 2 weeks, and I will be on vacation for a good 5 days next week/weekend, so I won't be around as much either.

Funny thing is, I slept in my contacts ALL the time during college and grad school (esp. when dating someone - I'm so blind that during "gettin' it on" I didn't want to elbow the dude in the face or something). And never had a problem. Then back in September, my eyes said 'enough is enough'.

Heh.  Yep.  Me too.  I would usually be listening to something hard rock/heavy metalish on my headphones.

Funny how my pre-race/game routine has not really changed all that much in 20+ years.  I have always retreated into music before a game or a race, or even a jump (high jump).  Visualization would take over while I was listening to the music, seeing myself doing what I was about to do.  Doing it the way I was supposed to do it.  Doing it right.

All of that still holds true today.  Before a race, but after the warm up, I've got the head phones on, listening to something (usually Metallica or GnR or something equally blood pumping) while seeing myself (in my minds eye) doing the swim perfectly, going through transition smoothly, a running mount on the bike, thinking about absorbing the pain on the run, etc.  Then with about 5-10 minutes to go, the music is put away, and I go through the whole race again.

I've been doing it for so long, I don't think I know any other way to get ready.

Thanks. I really, really need this one. Going home to chill and fish. Probably run a lot, too.

I regularly sleep in my contacts. I should probably stop doing that. My eye doc changed me to the Acuvue Oasis brand since I refuse to take them out they let a lot more oxygen in. Still should take them out though. My eyes are so bad though... and since I live by myself I REALLY hate the idea of waking up to sounds in the middle of the night and being so blind I wouldn't be able to identify an intruder. Yeah I think about that stuff.

I'm leaving for Vegas on Saturday and will likely not post much until late next week.

Ryan, I'm sorry. But you're going to HAVE to talk to Kiley.

That's what I wear now too, but my eye is still mad at me. Owie. At least I have cute glasses that I like now, and will wear at least at work (can't really sbr with them). I'm very near-sighted, so going without corrective lenses of some kind is not an option for me - at all.

Nova Scotia, and pretty much any kind of fishing I feel like doing. It's all there. This trip will probably be a lot of simple fresh water fishing so I can teach my kids.

Wow, it's going to suck that everyone's leaving and TAN will be dead for a while...I'm getting into an "I hate people phase" again, and you guys were the only people I figured I'd be talking to.

Cool.  I'm partial to fly fishing myself.

Sounds like a blast.  Have fun!
