I'm baking mini turkey meatloaves and apple cinnamon pecan proten muffins this afternoon. |

Confession...I made some ridiculously awesome baby back ribs (meat - good) and made the barbecue sauce with very little sugar (and a little honey) (not bad)...my bad choice? Eating about a million of them. Damn they were good. It has been a long time since I got up from the table and said, wow - I shouldn't have eaten that last one. But - I did 55 minutes on the trainer (instead of my planned 45). Hanging tight and waiting for Sandy - still no rain but everything is cancelled for tomorrow (except for my job - they're holding out). |

Veteran 312 St. Paul | Subject: RE: DOWN for the Holidays! My confession- Had 4 glasses of wine last night. We were sitting around watching the ND game and thought I'd have one. Well, you're going to have one, you may as well have two. Once you have two, three seems like a good idea. Then, there's no point in leaving just one glass left in the bottle.... Anyway, I did my 100 reps of core as penance! Edited by Nathanm74 2012-10-28 8:43 PM |

My big cheat for the week. I swam 45 minutes at the pool today and did my core 100. Confession 1: I've eaten nothing but oatmeal and PB&Js today. Been cleaning and packing to get ready for the move on Tuesday. Confession 2: I'd eat a whole cow if you pulled it off the grill and laid it in front of me, right now. And probably a ton of potatoes. I love steak and potatoes. |

Let us know how it turns out! I'm baking mini turkey meatloaves and apple cinnamon pecan proten muffins this afternoon. +1 on the smell of baked bread. Mini turkey meatloaves sound great. It must be the nasty weather, there seems to be a lot of baking going on in this forum! Confession: My ENTIRE WEEKEND is one big confession. Friday night, we ate out with some of town relatives and went to the local tavern. There truly is nothing remotely healthy on the menu, at least nothing edible. So....fried walleye and homemade chips plus some wine. Saturday - hotdog and chili at the bonfire. Sunday --- one of our cycling friends bought a chunk of land out in the boondocks earlier this year and has been working to convert an existing grain silo into a hunting cabin. He finally got electricity run to the structure, so hosted a small get together. I have to say it was a pretty cool place, and a wood burning stove kept things toasty. Grilled pork burgers and chips and pumpkin cookies. So....after a huge food hangover, I am ready for some better eating this week. Edited by abake 2012-10-29 5:34 AM |

Well I did my weekly weigh in, and was actually surprised. 185.6 (-2.4lbs) of course I am ruinin it all right now as I drink my eggnog latte. Fortunately I offset the amount of eggnog I drink by making it a 8 shot grande (16oz for you non Starbucks people) eggnog latte. |

Maybe another little trainer ride tonight. Probably a little trainer ride tomorrow (unless the gym opens back up). I've done one half-mary in the outer bands of a hurricane and another in a coastal storm. I'm kind of bored of running in that kind of rain. Stay safe, East Coasters. |

Extreme Veteran 1332 | Subject: RE: DOWN for the Holidays! I'll come bother you all a little bit more now. After losing 50 lbs, and then taking more of a fitness focus rather than weight loss focus for a couple months followed by a couple months of downtime worrying more about maintaining and resting my body, I am ready to get back to business!! I fluctuated within about 5 pounds, 173-178 but would LOVE to get down to 153, approx. my high school weight. ( nothing to do with being my high school weight though, but I'm 174 atm with about 37 pounds of body fat, and I'd like to get down to about 10-11% body fat, and that makes the total weight loss since my peak 70 lbs, never thought I'd even be able to say I'd lost 50 let alone more than that ) Going very strict on nutrition fo the most part and ramping the cardio back up while working on a couple of muscle imbalances that I still have 2 years after my femur break and hip surgery. Will stay in touch! Edited by dfquigley 2012-10-29 10:58 AM |

Expert 1187 Ontario | Subject: RE: DOWN for the Holidays! My confessions : I have not done any of the mini challenges. I ate tons of bad food over the weekend and did NO exercise. New week, fresh start. Woke up with a pounding headache (that I actually had most of the night but didn't want to get out of my nice warm bed to go downstairs and take some advil). Headache is gone now. Running some errands then home to plan my week of eating and exercise. |

Pro 3730 NorCal | Subject: RE: DOWN for the Holidays! Disaster weekend for me on food.....lets say monthly hormone issues+Halloween events = A VERY BAD ABBIE! Here's the long confession...... Friday: Went to Murder Mystery dinner, only had salad and chicken and fish for the dinner....dessert was a chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream on top! Normally I wouldn't even eat the brownie as they are too rich, friggin hormones! Saturday: Halloween party.....Let's just say I camped out at the dessert table and never had an empty glass of wine Sunday: Took myself to the movies and bought a mixed bag of candy from the bulk bin....who knew Chocolate covered gummie bears could be so delightful!? So now I'm back on track....I had a cup of cottage cheese with some cinnamon on top for breakfast and going to drown myself in water today! Have already done a bit over 2 miles on the dreadmill and 40 minutes of weights/core. |

Champion 5615 | Subject: RE: DOWN for the Holidays! I did well yesterday and actually came in a little lower than I probably should have bc I didn't eat anything between 10am and 6pm. I just wasn't hungry and, when I did eat, it was simple chicken, couscous and green beans.
Today, I ran out to the store for a few things and picked up a Starbucks mocha on my way home. I balanced it out with a couple of eggs and an apple for breakfast so I'm not completely derailing my day.
Still need to get up to exercising but one step at a time. |

Master 1531 TORONTO | Subject: RE: DOWN for the Holidays! Happy Monday everyone! (I know... is there such a thing?) Well for the first time in AGES I weighed in on a Monday at the same weight as I did on Friday! Sometimes I can fluctuate up to +4 pounds over the weekend. Crazy. Anyway I've planned my meals for the week and the repetition will likely get boring but I find it the easiest way to manage my intake. I've made a deal with myself that if I can get to sub-140 by race weekend I'll do a little shopping in the US. I'm on the border between sizes so if I don't get there - I refuse to buy clothes that are a size I have no intention on staying in. So.... an immediate goal in the near future. I'm actually excited! Sometimes having a far off goal with no immediate reward can lack the motivation. So this is my challenge to YOU! My race is November 17th - how much do YOU want to lose by that date?? And if you do... how will you reward yourself? Make it something good - something to pamper yourself - but try not to use food as the reward. Maybe some new winter running gear? |
