Day 7 complete...I am hoping that about 45 minutes spent rowing around on my new inflatable kayak will count as core work. I might still do some planks in a little while, but for now I am hiccuping like mad. Way too many beers today.

And...here's your picture.

Haha...no, luckily the bathroom has a code key entry system so I would've been able to hear if someone was coming in. I wanted to wait until I got home to take the picture, but switch and noelle seemed impatient.

Lookin' good Brad!

One week done, woo-hoo!

Switch, glad I wasn't the only one puzzled over the Runner's World link to the core workout.  Yes, they made that much more complicated than it needed to be.

Working on Monday core class for tonight and will post soon.  Meanwhile, anyone have any good ideas of obliques aside from side planks, seated twists or ab crunch/bicycle type things?

V-ups on a weight bench/ledge/etc, not a floor
I'm a big fan of the heavy weight Russian twists
Headstand: practice moving your legs up and down to your elbows (not against a wall!) and it's ALL core.
If you have a yard/garage, find a big abandoned tractor tire and hit it with a sledge hammer
Pistol squats (practice progression on a chair, ice chest, the tire, etc)

It is! It's one of my favorite activities. I don't even call it 'exercise' anymore. The sides of roads, behind buildings (especially tire centers), next to dumpsters, junkyards...all good places to find free or VERY cheap tires. This one was $5 from the junkyard. My other size ones were free. I've got a little collection. And I'm not even ashamed that it might look a little...trashy.

Actually felt pretty good. I am going to start doing these daily!

If your abs aren't sore tomorrow or Tues, I'll be seriously impressed!

No kidding, not sore at all. I could feel it a bit when I did my workout, but not bad. I was surprised myself!

Must be all that good Army training!

I do like them though. Now when I leave work for the day, I walk by the gym and knock out a few sets!

And here I thought you guys would hammer me for the girl comment............

YES!  This is my biggest problem with this exercise.  I  have really low BP, and I have to transition from sitting to standing or having my head lower than my heart--s-l-o-w-l-y.

Not sore, I was surprised too. Was thinking of adding some twists or a bit of weight in a week or so after figuring them all out.

There is a bit of technique to them, the first ones were pretty slow to figure out the movements.

I was wondering if because I have not ever done them, if that is why I got a bit dizzy.

And...........you let me slide too when I said a girl said she did 3x20 and I had to do at least that!
