Mid year check in. I'm at 420. And not that kind of 420.

After my first marathon in May I have struggled to get any real miles back in during the month of June. However, in training for a 70.3 and another marathon in October I should be catching up.

Mid year at 850 miles.  Racing is making it a challenge to keep up the mileage though.  Ran a 5k on Saturday and then my first track meet last night.  5000m on the track.  First race on a track in 35 years.  Felt very good but a little strange running with so many really good runners.  A bit humbling.

1000 mile pace rabbit just crossed the 500 mile mark. 501 to be precise. I'm at 454. Disappointed in myself. Closed the gap a little last month but not nearly enough.

I'm at 1444 as of today. Although I'll only get in 4 weeks of training post surgery, I'm going to run the 10,000 meter at Nationals next Friday. Eff it, may as well go out and enjoy the experience, even if I can't be competitive. I'll let ya'll know how it goes

Been a while since I checked in.  I'm currently sitting at 789.93 miles for the year.  Behind where I want to be but still ahead of that rabbit.  Still well on track for 1200 miles for the year though.

Good job everyone, keep up the good work!

Mid July check-in for me.

I'm currently at 480.3 miles for the year. I missed last weekends long run, but, I may still be able to cross the 500 mile mark this week.

Took a rest day today, so July is in the books.

127.8 miles for the month puts me at 552.9 miles for the year. Still behind the rabbit, but I just might be able to catch it in August.

Pace rabbit is at 586.3. I'm almost at 585 so I should pass the pesky little thing this week. Keep going everyone.

Look at you catching that wabbit!
Nice job!!

I am in week five of my training plan for marathon #2. I am also doing a road race series that has a half marathon the day after the full I am doing. So I decided I wanted to do both if I could do so sensibly meaning without just doing it but training appropriately for it. I decided to use the Goofy challenge back to back weekend runs along with my weekly marathon miles.
We shall see!
I am calling it my Reverse Goofy challenge because the order will be reversed.

Fun stuff!

Hit a 1,000 miles today.

It has been a great year so far with several PR's and I've tried some new things like trail races and several track meets.  I've got a 50 miler next week and a half marathon the week after that.

Cool!!!!! Let us know how the 50-miler goes. First one?

Pace rabbit is at an even 600 miles. I squeaked by the rabbit today but it may pass me next week while I'm on vaca. But if it passes me, it will short-lived cuz I'll get the sucker.

Not sure how I missed this challenge and I am very late to the game, but I'll jump in anyway. Just did my calculations and it looks like 1109.8 miles so far. This will be a high mileage year for me though with two marathons (one done in June) another in November. Unfortunately my swimming mileage and cycling mileage for the year are almost non-existent.

Are you sure this is a good challenge if you've already passed it on the first day? )) That is awesome that you are already done, BTW. You may hit 2000!

I know. It makes me look like Rosie Ruiz (look it up you young ones who don't know who she is), but the difference is I actually did run those miles Not sure I will make 2000, but why not, I'll give it a shot.

I am at 1,040 so far.

I had a 5 mile race yesterday and my time was 11 minutes faster than the same race last year! That was fun.

I think quite truly for the first time I 'get it'. It's not just about the fitness. It's not just about the great little endorphin rush as you hit 5, 10, 15 miles...its not just the medal at the end.
