kcarroll - 2010-04-23 5:46 AM Geez Kim.  You just had to post that recipe when I'm at my desk with nothing but a cheese stick and a banana.  That rumbling noise you hear is my tummy.  Seriously though, it does look good.  Will keep that one for another day.

Good luck to all those racing this weekend!!!

So you probably do not want me to post the banana chocolate chip muffin recipe that I will be making later either right?

OMG, you are killing me right now.  Cafe doesn't open for another hour.  Must....not....seek...out...vending...machines.

Oh p?ost the muffin recipe if you must.  I have some riper bananas at home that are in need of finding their place in a recipe or smoothie.

Houstonrider - 2010-04-23 8:22 AM To everyone in the Mentor group,

I just wanted to thank all of you for your inspires, kind words, and encouragement during the past 20 weeks of training for my first HIM. I can't believe after 2 wrecks in Dec and Jan and a bad knee in Jan that I'm finally 2 days away from the start line 100% healthy.

Regardless of the race outcome, I am in a better spot physically and mentally than I was 20 weeks ago and I have all of you to thank. Regardless of how large or small, all of you had made an impact at some point along this journey and I just wanted to say "Thanks"

So yesterday it was all about the smack talk and today is sap talk?

We love you Justine and are so very excited for you!

I'm a very complex individual.... But I am in touch with my sensitive side. But if it makes you feel better.....

I just want to thank the MG for giving the inspiration I need to make the aero leg marine eat my dust...... and Keri you're just upset that your not racing and you won't have the opportunity to admire my pace booty! HA.

Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins - This is by far one of my favoriate things to make with Bananas

2 cups flour (I have used a mix of white and wheat and it turns out fine)
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp soda
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt

1 egg
1/4 cup oil
1 cup mashed banana's (2 is what I usually use)
1/2 cup milk
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup chocolate chips (plus a small amount that is dumped directly to your mouth)

Mix dry ingredients.  Mix the wet ingrediants.  Combine.  These are muffins so no over mixing

Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes

Try and eat just one at a time

Super big good luck to everyone racing this weekend!

My creativity is null today, I've been trying to come up with a snappy cheer all day and have got nothing.  I might still dazzle you before the day is out, but if not, know that I am insanely jealous and can't wait to read race reports and see pics of each of you.

You are all HUGE inspirations for those of us (um, me) who really want to get back into traning and racing and put an HIM behind them in 2010 as well.

Nice job, Justin! Nice to see everyone out there today...and what a treat to be body marked by Ken. Smile

It was a TOUGH day for me. Didn't get the tailwind coming back on the bike that I was hoping for, so my legs were pretty gone by the start of the run. Also flatted just one mile from transition when I was coming back on the bike.  I was hoping for sub-7:00hr, but it was not my day. On a positive note, I think I handled nutrition, hydration, and staying (relatively) cool very well...so there are some bright spots!

I'm very sore...very tired...and very sunburned! I promise a full RR tomorrow.

WOW. Very serious congratulations Justin.

The flat suck Tiff. Learning experience for next time. I've never had to change a flat under pressure, I'd probably just walk.

Bummer on the flat.  That's never fun.  Glad you got the nutrition and hydration down though.  That's a hard thing to do and you'd have been miserable for sure if you hadn't.

Happy Monday!!

I just got back from Greenville my friend John had to have surgery on his pinky so I got up at 4:45 this morning to drive him.  Took a long time but his surgery went well and we're back in Clemson so its naptime for me before any training can take place.  Looking forward to reading everyone's RRs later today!!  Hope everyone's having a great start to their week.

So I am a bit confused this morning.  I signed up for a race on Memorial Day that I thought was an Olympic, which is what I wanted before my HIM, but then somewhere along the line got convinced it was a sprint, which was disappointing cause I wanted the longer swim but the race would have been good to do anyways but now I see it is indeed an Olympic.  So, now I am back into full panic mode about my crappy swim and swimming the distance.  But I need the longer swim before my HIM or I'll be a basketcase to say the least.

OK, I really need more coffee.  It is back to a sprint.  However, there is an OWS event two days before that is a mile swim.  Debating entering that.  I think it will be good for me.

not sure if the word got out here yet, but tryin2bslow got the flu or something and didn't make the race.  incredibly disappointing to say the least.  as much sh+t as i talk i was really looking forward to seeing him out there on the run yesterday.  i spoke with him briefly last night.  101 temp, achy, finally able to hold some food down.  hopefully he's on the way to speedy recovery.
