Expert 936 Springfield, MO | Subject: RE: DRM's Group - FULL Hey guys. How's it going? I just stopped by to say hi. I've been riding a lot, at least a lot more than I was, and I ran this morning. I'm aiming for the Tour de Cure, June 16th. I think I'm going to be able to do the 60 miler. Carry on and don't forget...Good Luck and Have Fun! |

Pro 6582 Melbourne FL | Subject: RE: DRM's Group - FULL Good idea on the check-in! I have a good build week in progress, should be the most minutes I've put for about 6 weeks or so. Todays run felt good, I'm really surprised now that my RPE3-5 (easy) runs are sub 9 min/miles, even with the summer heat building in. I just checked my logs from last year, for May 9th I did a 5.55 mile run at 9 min pace but at RPE 5-8 and HR was below Z3 for only 13 min! My longest run up to that point was on May 20th, 7.11 miles at 10 min pace, wow it's amazing looking back! Looking forward to the next race in < 3 weeks to compare with last years times. |

Elite 2552 Evans, GA | Subject: RE: DRM's Group - FULL I, for one, would like to keep this group going past the expiration date for our group. I hope everyone else is interested in staying. It's corny, but I feel like you guys are my friends now. So hopefully we can keep this group together. I'm sure Donto may want some new recruits, so ultimately that's up to him. I still have a lot to learn about triathlons, and this group has helped a lot. |

Master 2379 Alpharetta, GA | Subject: RE: DRM's Group - FULL Not sure why, but your post, Bluejack, reminded me of one of the opening scenes in Stripes, when Bill Murray's character talks about Sgt. Hulka: "...An army without leaders is like a foot without a big toe. And Sergeant Hulka is always gonna be here to be that big toe for us. I think that we owe a big round of applause to our newest, bestest buddy, and big toe... Sergeant Hulka." Donto is our Sgt. Hulka (congrats Donto) and I, for two, am also interested in "stickin' around." Being part of this group played a huge role in helping me successfully complete my first tri. As already noted, lots of good info. shared among (now) compadres and probably much more to come...additionally, varied experience levels and sharing about same is only going to grow deeper and wider and therefore be that much more beneficial down the road. Yes, Donto's call about whether or not to continue - formal or informal doesn't matter to me - and I respect his decision either way. But if I had my druthers, I'd say "let's keep the lights on." Pro 6582 Melbourne FL | Subject: RE: DRM's Group - FULL Are they going to shutdown the Jan Mentor threads? I doubt it, we can just keep on posting...I'm not going to do the summer mentor as a vacation is coming! Sgt Hulka, LOL! Seriously you guys have come a long way, I too like this group and was wonder what will happen to it. I really would like to head up to the Atlanta area and do a long weekend training with ya'll, 3 gaps is calling my name!!! I like Jonathan's post, list out what we're planning on doing during the week is something we all should do too keep the list active, I'm willing to keep the "Game On"! BTW, I did an OWS this mornign and met Tod live in person, the guy's a speedboat in the water , but that's easy for me to say being slower that slow in water! There's a really nice Oly/Sprint in early October down here, only 8 hours from Atl! |

Elite 2552 Evans, GA | Subject: RE: DRM's Group - FULL I'm starting to feel a bit more myself the last two days or so. It is a bit of a bummer how fast all that fitness goes away after an IM. Oh well. I'll start next week posting my weeks activities. I change a lot on the fly due to work constraints. Tattoo for IMAZ? I was thinking the dot could be a Captain America Shield. Any thoughts? Pro 6582 Melbourne FL | Subject: RE: DRM's Group - FULL That would be pretty cool Steve! I told my wife that if I ever do an IM that I'll have to get the tattoo. She hates, I must emphasize HATES tattoo's, and of course had to throw out the threat of the big D, I just had to laugh. Of course the kids are all on my side! |

Guess your wife won't be marrying me then. I have 2 and was all set to get another until I realized no swimming for 3-4 weeks after. Guess it'll have to wait. |

Master 2125 | Subject: RE: DRM's Group - FULL After you get a tattoo, they tell you to stay out of the pool and ocean for 3-4 weeks until is heals. I'm sure you can get it a little wet (shower) but they don't want it emersed in water. At least that is what I was told. |

Regular 60 Bangalore, Karnataka | Subject: RE: DRM's Group - FULL Guys !!! A very sheepish me comes back to the forum !!! I have to admit that I disappeared on you guys as too many things took over my life (work, child, chores, travel etc etc)... The good thing is that I kept up some form of training through all that but just couldnt keep logging it and feeling sad about how little I was doing... Then I saw a sprint happening close by and signed up for it and did it last week. AND I AM SO ENERGIZED AGAIN !!! This has been the story of my triathlon life - I do the races to start training ! (talk about cart before the horse)... For my standards I had a great race - definitely faster than my previous two sprints (on a very hilly course at that).. Of course, my swim sucked (hadnt been in the pool in a few months, except for some cramming in the week before the race).. was decent on the bike and did a reasonable run... My time was 1.33 or so for a 750m, 20k, 5K tri... so not too shabby (though nothing to write home about, I know) Just wanted to let you all know.. I can see people have achieved a lot on this group.. and CONGRATULATIONS to all.. I still havent got back to recording my workouts but am definitely picking up the momentum now... Am planning on an Oly in July and need to work out how to build up the volume so quickly.. Avinash |
