Tempo run completed this evening.

I have a long bike tomorrow, long run Sunday, short bike & short swim Monday and long swim Tuesday and I'll be done.

I'm taking a day off tomorrow to get out and enjoy the 80-some odd degree weather on a 35 or so mile bikeride.

Way to go Atoms!!!!

I've hit my bike and run goal and very close to swim and strength/yoga.

I will be 3+ hours over on bike and run lots of miles with all the double credit for races (3 race with runs this month).

I'm doing my first tri of the season Sunday in NJ....1/2 mile swim/29.5 mile bike/4.2 mile run.

Anyone wonder why I picked it? short swim, long bike, medium run..seems like it was meant for me. I just hope the water is in the 60s for the swim as cold water I often get a little uncomfortable and panicky.

Anyone else racing this weekend?

Got a 35 mile bike done today 2:40:22'ish.  Brutal hills, but a fun ride.  Needed badly the day away from the office!  Bike total is at 95%.

Now, to mow the yard, weedeat, etc.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Hey team, I've lowered my goals because I've missed about a week of real training because of being sick.  They still don't know what's wrong, so I'm going to try to shoot for these new goals:

Swim: 207 minutes
Bike: 402 minutes
Run: 322 minutes

I think I'll be able to finish these or get a lot closer by next week.

Didn't want to let the Amazing Atoms down, so did a little swim and strength tonight.  It would've been so easy to stay on the couch if it weren't for the challenge.

Should go more over bike goal tomorrow if it doesn't snow, then a couple more swims and strengths to exceed goals there too.  Yay!

Go Atoms!!!

Bike is short by 5 min right now but am doing a duathlon with my son tomorrow so there is my bike finished.  I have 5 hours left on my run and since I am racing with my son it will be a slower pace so I should have another hour and half or so tomorrow and have several days next week of running so Im not worried about that.  Swim.....ok got 4 more hours to go...our pool was so screwed up and closed and I finally got my membership renewed at the college and have been there.  The only problem is it has to be done on Tues and Thurs mornings or M W F evenings as they have the old folks in the pool on MWF morning till 10:30 and I have to be at my real job at 11.  So next week I will do my best to get this done.  i still think kayaking should count towards swim time......using some of those same muscles!  Kiss

Rest day today.  Took an easy spin thru the 'hood on ye olde comfort bike.

Flat pedals... cotton t-shirt.... tennis shoes... 78 degrees... neighbors taking prom pictures in front yard(s).

Nice change from the rigors of training.

I swam at the race site today..lovely 65 degrees.

Tomorrow weather predicted high of 50 with rain..makes race day clothes a bit of a challenge. Spring maybe stick with shorts and tri top but 29 mile bike...jacket? which one? gloves? tights or knee warmers, hat under helmet?

Have fun day Atoms!

Kathy - It is better to have and not need than to need and not have.

Take the tights, gloves and jacket.  If you have pockets in the back (cycling shirt) you can always wad up the jacket, gloves and put in your back pockets.  The tights and hat under helmet will keep you warm(er).

Good luck!

Jen met her biking goal with me today.  Nice (somewhat damp) ride in the drizzle--even with a grumpy guy who yelled at us to tighten it up while his bike sounded like crap!

Yep, had a great ride today despite the rain and crazy people.  I'm done with my bike goal and should be able to easily finish up the rest of my goals by the end of the challenge.

OK, dokey, Atoms...

I'm at 5750/8000 on the swim - so with 2 good swims on Monday and Tuesday, I'll be done with that.

I'm at 155.18/160 on the bike - so after spin class tomorrow, I'll be over 100%.

I'm at 68.53/80 on the run - this one is a little trickier, but I think I can squeeze out 12 miles in 3 days. That's the plan at least. I have time to go long either Tuesday or Wednesday. I will not let my fellow Atoms down!

I'm at 110% of s/b/r and 100% strength/yoga. 3 races with double credit helped a lot especially on my run totals and I did more running in races then s/b.

Race today was tough as it was 46-48 and had rained a little before the start. Swim was warm, bike was chilly and quite a few crashes on slippery stuff, run I felt my feet. I'll work on RR tomorrow.

I was 2nd Athena and 4th in my AG....so I was given teh 2nd overall female aquabike award...hugh?

Congratulations on the race!!  I like the 2nd place aqua bike award.  Makes no sense...

Swim completed this morning; mainly 50 yd sprints and kicking drills.  Long swim tomorrow morning will complete my part of the challenge.  Will crush (complete) the bike portion this evening.

Way to go Kathy!

JoeMac - Dude!  You are awesome!  (Pardon my excitement.)  With your advice, I went from a 1:08 50-yd sprint to a 44!!!  Now, I'll work on keeping my heart rate down, compromising the pace (considerably) to allow for distance without wearing myself out.  I've got a foundation to work with for speed now.  Thanks again for the advice and assistance!

Go Atoms!
