Extreme Veteran 393 Richmond Hill, Ontario | Subject: RE: Kamikaze Geckos A little introduction from yours truly... I'm a 42 year young gal, single, no kids, no pets. I was born in Montréal, QC and lived there for most of my life. I moved to the Toronto, ON area at the end of 2001 to further my career in the information technology field and to pursue a love affair that ended rather abruptly back in 2005. During that period of my life, my weight ballooned to 189 lbs for my 5'2" petite frame. In 2004, I decided to do something about it. Little by little, I made wiser and healthier food choices and began weight training and dropped 55 lbs over a period of 18 months. I continued this regimen until May 2006 when I was re-introduced to running and biking. I raced my first multisport event in September of that year (a du) and began training for tri's a couple of months later. I have gained 16 lbs since taking triathlon training but have maintained my weight between 145 and 148 lbs during the past 1 1/2 year. My main goals this year are to race the Muskoka Ironman 70.3 in September, remain injury free as much as possible and have fun training and racing. |

Team Totally Nutty is also known as "Team Chatty." (That's how I thought of it when I set up the teams.) It consists of people who specifically requested "a chatty team." Um, and to be honest, a good number of the posts there are mine. LOL |

Should be 88 F but we expect 104 F with the humidity. I totally second Judi for the suckometer points. |

Yes. That and the wind chill... They are both bogus. If it is freakin' hot, it's hot...if it's freakin' cold, it's cold. We complained about the cold weather and snow all winter and now we finally have some summer and people are already complaining around here. Too funny. I love the humidity. Makes my skin look so pretty and glisteny (if that is word) |

Pro 4089 Without house | Subject: RE: Kamikaze Geckos Ok, time for my intro! Name's Peggy. I'm single, 29, 2 fur babies (cats, if you must know). I just sold my house and am now free from the bondage that is home ownership! As much as everyone says that owning a home is a great investment (I'm not disputing it...it is!!), when you are single and unattached with limited family in the area, it really becomes an albatross around your neck. I am now free to roam the country (I believe that's a line in a commercial for an airline, but it applies to me). I'm currently the manager of a medical coding department for a consulting company, but will be transitioning out of that position into a remote position (which will REALLY give me freedom to move around...all I'll need is high speed internet access!). This is my second tri season. I actually started training 2 years ago with a couch to 5k program. The DAY before my first 5k, I fell down my steps and sprained my ankle really badly. Oh the agony! The first thought that went through my head was "Damn...there goes my 5k!" This from a girl who at her highest weighed 328 lbs (pics in the album if you don't believe me). I lost about 70 lbs before I started tri-ing, and I'm now at not quite 95 lbs down. I avoided activity at all costs. Now I look for it. That's me in a nutshell. Lots of changes in the past month...I'm honestly surprised I remember my name at this point. Hoping to make the Geckos proud, and train well for my first Olympic at the end of the month. I'm already behind on my training because of all the stuff that's been going on, but if I can make it through, then I can really focus on my A race, which is another Oly in August. |

I think your suckometer is broken, I checked accuweather for the time I was running. It was 89 degrees and 54% humidity out there so it rates high on my suckometer scale. Today I could barely see the skyline of Richmond as I crossed the river for all the humidity |
