Nice job everyone!  But dang, I've been mostly following my plan, and my totals are much lower than the rest of you.  Time for me to get my butt in gear...

You aren't the only one My coach is keeping a tight lid on my volume so I don't wear out too soon. Now that we're 12 weeks out, my big build is beginning but with 2 rest weeks in August (1 post-race and 1 post-2 weeks of big training), my numbers for the month aren't especially high. And that's OK - it means I'm fresh and healthy for what lies ahead!

My August totals up to 8/23/09... I know, I am terrible about keeping up my postings...  Work all day on a computer and when I get home after training, I eat and go to bed... I will post some better numbers this weekend..  You all look great... Sooooooooo, someone likes to WATCH, huh????  Best training moments right now are 40 miles in 2:40 for a total of 45 in 3 hrs last weekend, and a couple of 1 hour 100 lap swim practices at my local 24 HR Fitness... Best personal mark is I hit 138 pounds about a week ago and I haven't seen that weight since I was in the Police Academy back in 1980...  I am from North County OC and will finish this beast...  No Grim Reaper Andy Anderson stopping me any where along the course.. I too am following the plan my coach has for me and that is an accomplishment all by itself!  And it better work cause that's what I am frikin paying him for!  ;)

August Totals:

Bike:   15h 58m

Run:    8h 27m

Swim:  5h 3 m

Yep, the biggest race I have been in had 500 people.  I can't imagine 4 times that number.  I also worry a bit about cold water.  I am sure it will be fine but I will probably worry about it until we actually get started and then I'll be fine.

I'm still struggling with an injury so, for now, I have plenty other things to worry about.  The swim will be my next concern once I get the training back up to normal.

Run:18h 57m 28s  - 121.07 Mi
Swim:11h 37m 24s  - 23723.36 Yd

I'm seeing some really nice numbers for August amongst this group.  Especially on the bike.

Nervous about the swim start?   Is there anybody who ISN'T nervous about the swim start?

Cooler weather in September will help.

IMAZ racers--anyone else still need a room/place to stay? Still some room at our rented house (100% confirmed--the security deposit check was cashed and contract sent in).

Right now there are 5 of us BT'ers in a house that has two queen beds, two double beds, big sectional couches, outdoor pool, kitchen, etc.  It's in Chandler, just SE of Tempe.  We have the place from Thurs-Wed of IMAZ week.  Looking for 1-2 others, racers or volunteers, to share the place and the cost.  If we get 6 people.  With 1-2 other folks, it'll be b/w $160-$188 per person for the WHOLE time.  We are a racer friendly house with two of the crew racing themselves.  If you're interested please PM me!

Looking forward to cheering y'all on out there!  My training partner is doing IMAZ as I trian for IMFL and we're keeping each other sane on the long rides and tough days.

After getting beaten up at IMKY this past weekend and that's a time-trial start....YES I'm worried!  I also need to get a full wetsuit, don't think my sleeveless is going to cut it.  When I swim at the G'ade swim last year at IMAZ, I was freezing in my sleeveless!

A little tip, in November at 6:45 the water temps are gonna be warmer than the air temps.  The water will feel warm when you jump in (at least it was last Nov).  It gets a little chillier if you are in and waiting, so if you hang out on the side it'll be fine.

I plan to wear a full suit and hood. This kept me warm at the Oceanside half with water temps of ~59. I was really worried about being cold during that swim but it worked out well. Looks like the water temp at IMAZ last year was 63 or so from Chris's report.
