Morning all...Thank you so much for the Inspires and PM's sent my way yesterday.  I go to the Orthopedist today and see what the deal is.  In doing some checking yesterday, I found that a Class III separation quite often needs surgical intervention if the person wants/needs to regain athletic movement in the shoulder....well Duh!!!  And as we all know....if it says so on the inter-web-net-thingy.....it HAS to be true!!

I really don't feel like this is going to be the case with me.  The swelling and knot have subsided dramatically in the last 24 hours and my range of motion has greatly improved....of course I am FULL of narcotics so maybe this really hurts...and I just don't know it.

Updates after the visit and thanks again for the notes and support.

Steve

SSMinnow - 2010-02-08 12:06 PM Happy Monday kids!

Steve: Fingers crossed for you.....

Barry: Cry me a river.... said nicely.  Enjoy your ride outside in the sun.  Its 23F here so will be heading downstairs to the CT (which I really don't mind).

Jeff: How fun!  Sounds like the skiing is great.

Sam/Tony: Are you getting ready for round II of the snowfall.  We are getting 9" tonight and I am guessing it is coming your way.

Quick question for all of you IM'ers.....how long was your training plan?  I am on the IM WI forum and I swear these guys are freaking me out a little. Most started in January....seems kind of crazy and really long....granted I haven't been sitting on my fanny eating bon bons, but I won't be starting my formal training until sometime in March and we all know where I am on the running front.

Suzy

IM Training....if I remember right my training was 20 weeks.  I started in Feb for a June Race.  Of course that is with a huge base already built which is a no brainer for you.   I started the season off with a early Oly to blow the cobwebs out then had 1-2 half IM distance races to test the waters and focus on nutrition and pacing.  Neither of them were all out.

Steve, really sorry about the injury but glad to hear it is feeling better.

Not posting much this week... All I have is complaining about snow.  Supposed to get another 10-20 inches today.  Workouts are pretty much scrapped.

Going to talk to coach about just doing bike/strength/yoga this week as even fed gov't is closed again and probably will be tomorrow as well so no swimming.  Roads are fairly clear but the sidewalks aren't and it was even sketchy trying a 15 minute run yesterday.

grumble, grumble, grumble...

Welcome to our world, so no sympathy from anybody here in Cheeseheadville.   Here is mandatory piece of Wisconsin training equipment:

We are supposed to get 14 to 16 today.  Gotta love that lake effect snow!

Foot still hurts so I cannot run but I made a huge accomplishment in the gym last night. I got my max bench in at 225. I am overly pleased as I was just cleared from a broken elbow in October. This was from the accident on my bike. Hopefully the foot heals soon so I can run again. Too much snow to bike here.

i was hoping not to be here today but rather 17 beers by now in while sitting uptown by the old house waiting for the parade to start.    had my plane tickets and all but i just couldn't make it happen.  that whole dad thing, ya know.   it is going to absoultey insane over there later today.  ah well.  mardi gras half is only a few weeks away.  it'll be a little calmer then...

Hope the foot feels better.  Congrats on the lifting milestone.  It has been about 10 years since I have done that...before my first son was born.  I'd be lucky to get 160 up now!

Very nice.

Also like the white bar tape.

Might want to read up on how to clean it as white gets dirty pretty quickly.

Or just leave it like mine and eventually it looks like black bar tape...

Glen, very nice ride.  Do her a favor and take the reflectors off the wheels.  Don't want the other wheels on the road to laugh at her.   But to be honest I am disappointed you didn't buy an AHRENS - I hear they're the BEST!!!
