Happy hump day kids.

Is anyone "friends" with Macca on facebook?

If you're not, you won't have seen this, but it's a pretty sweet contest!

I have the Cycleops Fluid 2 my wonderful and amazing husband got me for Christmas!  I LOVE it!
Granted I have nothing to compare it to but it is AWESOME!  My whole goal was to get more comfortable riding and forge a relationship with my bike.  I don't get out on the road very often and I feel the trainer has really helped me a lot!  DVR some bad TV and let it rip!  Biggest Loser = 50 good minutes on the trainer.  Though my girls prefer the "dress show" aka Project Runway.  They will say "Mom, can you get on your bike so we can watch the dress show?"  LOL  And then the 3 year old yells "Faster, Mommy Faster when I pick it up during commercials"

I scored a Fliud of ebay and it leaked about 1 month in. Called CycleOps and they replaced with with a brand new Fliud 2 fast. Love the new one. Netflix on the lap top is my friend. Thinking of that I have like 4 movie reviews to post.

I followed Justin's lead.  He is "the man" at finding the best price out there.  I love the Power Tap so far.  I should start to use it more for training than data next month.  You can order a front wheel to match the back if you care.  I plan on training and racing with my set since race wheels aren't in my near future.

If you want to look super cool go with a wireless hub instead.  I have no cash for pretty & clean.  Works the same either way.

Hey peeps.  I am still quite sick and still not eating.  I have a feeling that a trip to the drs is in order tomorrow.  Laying down all day is making my leg muscles very tight and sore.  To stretch them is so painful that it's close to crying type pain.

Sounds like you are getting dehydrated. I suggest some pedialyte. The stuff works wonders. A bug is also making it's way through my house as well. But it's mild compared to what you and Justin have experienced. I only "recycled" once this afternoon.

I've got my first tri on May 15th.  That's officially 15 days from now since it's past midnight here.  Had to share this since everyone helped me through the stuff with my parents.  Mom asks me all the time about times for everything I think trying to see if she's right that I haven't trained enough but anyway today I took Bella out for a ride and got 11 miles in 55 minutes.  Sent her a text telling her about it and I think she's finally seeing that I can complete this triathlon.  She and dad are planning on coming up for it and are actually really excited.  We'll see if it works out though.  My dad's job keeps him really busy and while nothing's planned for him that weekend, it's too early to say that something won't come up.  I'm keeping my fingers crossed though that they can come up.  I'd really enjoy having them cheer me on and they'd bring Skye and I really miss that dog right now!

In other news, today was just sooooo productive.... yeah that statement is absolutely posively dripping with sarcasm.   I took my Spanish exam which went really well then went over to James's only to sleep for 3 hours.  Then lunch came around then I just had to find some new music so iTunes browsing became my next activity.  Then I decided I should sign up for Twitter since I've been wanting to check out what it's all about for a while now.  That took a while.  I mean the whole picking a name thing took forever then I had to start following people... yeah by the time that was over it was after 6 so it was way past my scheduled bike ride time so I went for a ride then to chinese with James and his roommates.  Then took a shower and got in bed to do work and just woke up 30 minutes ago.  Oops!  I guess the bright side is I have until 7 tomorrow night to study for my final and do citations for my paper.... at least I got a good bike ride in!!

To all those who are sick:  Hope you are feeling better soon!!

nothing exciting on my side.  My wife and I are taking a cooking class tonight (with lots of free wine) and hiking with the kid tomorrow.

trying to get a good long workout in on Sunday.  My training has been severely lacking the last few weeks and I'm noticing it big time in my times and how i feel after the workout.  So a question for the group.  When you don't have time to workout more than 3 times a week what do you do to keep the endurance??

Weird thing on my ride in Central Park this morning.  I saw for the first time a cyclist getting a ticket.  It's weird since early in the morning the traffic is closed off to motor vehicles..  I'm pretty sure it wasn't do to going too fast, maybe he didn't yield to pedestrians?  Kelly be aware..  I was paranoid for the rest of my ride..

Going to see Van Morrison on Saturday night... my wife received 2nd row tickets from her Principal for secretary's day. (I was shocked to see what she paid for them! $388 for two tix) She has always wanted to see him and he does not play in the US hardly ever, so she is super stoked.  So it will be a date night kinda thing... dinner and a good concert.

~just in case some of the younger ones in the bunch are not familiar with Van Morrison... his hits include - Brown Eyed Girl, Into the Mystic, Moondance, and many, many more.~

Due to financial constraints, I will not be racing until early June as well... I would really like to burn off some racing frustration in May... *enter a sexual inuendo from Nicole here*   LOL!

Happy Friday Y'all - enjoy your weekend activities, whatever that may include!

Emma - keep training and the Tri will be your time to shine.  I hope your parents & more importantly - your dog (I am partial to dogs over parents... HA!) are able to come out and cheer you on and relish in your accomplishment with you.

Dan - Congrats on the new Trainer... can't go wrong the Fluid2.  I really want to sell off my newer Blackburn Fluid trainier and get a Fluid2 to go with my older CO Fluid1... My wife & I ride together like CHiPs... she's John & I'm Ponch.... ha!  Keep gettin' your run on!

Sending out HEALING vibes as well!

And Todd.... you are 2 cool 4 school!  My hero - the bringer of 'c'!

That just blows me away... I don't get writing these tickets... I was never a big ticket writer when I am/was in patrol... But to write a cyclist - he/she would have to be the biggest A-Hole on the planet to get me to hang some paper on them.  Two words... Verbal Warning! (we don't have written warnings with HPD)    climbs off soap box...

Oh wait... climbs back on (briefly - I promise)...
On a side note (police related)... this will go National (news) soon (once the video becomes avail.), and it's all over the local news now.  1 Sgt & 7 Officers from my station are relieved of duty pending an investigation of excessive force.  I know the Sgt well and know of the officers.  (I AM NOT DEFENDING or CONDONING THEIR ACTIONS!!!) But they are really good policeman that do really good work, and get a lot of bad people off the streets of Houston.  This will all be lost on the fact that they got caught up in the moment - made some very poor decisions - and will ultimately be life changing for many (if not all) of them.

The video that will soon be released (and ultimately go to the national news level) does not bode well for the few officers directly involved.  I don't know how many of y'all personally know other Police men & women, have family members that are, etc.  Most don't and their interaction is limited to dealing with officers during less than ideal times - which results in poor opinions of them.  I just wanted to share that WE are ordinary people with an extraordinary job.  WE are human, WE make mistakes, and just like any other profession... the actions of a few DO NOT dictate that of the whole.  Dr's, Lawyers, Priests, Teachers, and even Electrical Engineers (lol for EvD!) all have people who tarnish their profession and make it harder for those that do the right thing day in & day out!  So please keep that in mind when you see, hear or know of negative coverage about law enforcement.

And I also ask that you say some prayers for the accused officers and their families... that they may find the strength to endure and the knowledge to see the errors they have made and change for the better because of this.

Thank you...solemly stepping down...

Who decided finals at 7 on a friday were a good idea???? or finals in general for that matter?  I'm so ready for 8 when I'm done with everything.  Only bad thing is people start leaving tomorrow Cry I'm gonna miss everyone.  Good thing about this summer is that both James and I have 21st birthdays so everyone will be coming to Clemson to visit.  So the rest of the day is uneventful for me and this weekend is going to be used for stress relief.  Hoping to lay out by the pool tomorrow and do nothing all day Laughing

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
