Hey Cold Turkeys!!  Hope everyone has a fun and productive weekend training-wise   I'm going to try to ride outside today -- high of 40* and 100% humidity.  The last 2 winters I've been able to ride outside almost every weekend, but it was always warmer than this.  Guess we may have a real winter this year so I'll have to toughen up!

edit: rechecked the forecast and now they're saying high of 37* -- I'm gonna need a thermos of coffee waiting for me afterwards!

I've cycled down to about 28F (once!) but prefer when it's above freezing. It all comes down to dressing right...lots of layers!

Hey everyone!

I'm back from my mom's, and s-l-o-w-l-y recovering from my crud/cold (why does it take so long to feel all better?). I have considered carefully and have decided to revise my goals to account for some of my sick days. Normally I'd just try to cram it all in to the remaining days, but I am working on BALANCE so I need to be realistic. I'll get the spreadsheet updated to reflect the changes. Here they are for you guys:

30 days - days missed = days of participation
Original goal x days of participation / 30 = new goal
(30 original days - 5 days missed = 25 days or 83.33percent)
8* .8333 = 6.67 times, so let's call it 7 runs and 6 strength to even it out.
120*8.333 = 100

Original Goals
Run 8 sessions>20 min each
Strength 8 session>20 min each
Flexibility 120 minutes

Modified Goals:
Run 7 sessions>20 min each
Strength 6 session>20 min each
Flexibility 100 minutes

Sound ok to the rest of you? Do I need to do anything else besides update our spreadsheet? Hoping after my nap to knock off at least one of something here!

The rest of you are amazing, so happy to be on this team of truly positive and supportive people.

THANKS!!!

I got a nice little ride today!  Eleven of us went on a ride to celebrate a friends birthday.  We were doing a scavenger hunt along the ride (basicly "I spy") and we did some fun little sprints for points.  The person with the most points at the end of the ride won.  I have to wait till they get back to find out who won.  I only went half their distance.  A hungry, nursing baby doesn't let me get very far away.   I finally saw a roadkill on the drive home.  I wonder if I can put my points in for that one?

Glad you're feeling better!  You're smart to revise your goals so you don't wear yourself out and get sick again.

Don't be a turkey, make sure the spreadsheet is up-to-date with all of your training numbers.

The month is half over and we are at 38% as a team. It's time to take it up a level!

Go Cold Turkeys!

That being said, it is not looking good for me to get to the pool tomorrow.  My boys are sick.   I think we have the pig flu.  Not fun.  Poor guys.  But, I am hoping to get to the pool later on in the week.

I will be on the trainer tomorrow though.  Still on track to make my biking goal!

Sorry to hear the kiddos are sick - it makes me feel so bad when my little girl is sick - nothing there is nothing I can do to make her feel better.  Hopefully you avoid getting sick!
