Trevor & Rob.....
I have been consumed with the Olympics this last week.
Canada has put on a very impressive show.
And although I love the athlectics, I have really enjoyed all the bits on Canada.
Way to go!

Big issue though has been that weather!!! Vancouver is having the warmest Feburary it has had in 100 years. Hopefully, they get all that skiing in. Lot of upset people at Cypress(snowboard hill) They wouldn't allow some spectators on to where their standing area tickets were. They feel it is unsafe to stand in these areas. Would suck to have bought tickets, get there and they say that you aren't allowed to be there.

Post run update:

5.2 miles in 49 minutes.

I really tried to go slow.  Legs felt great.  Ankle felt pretty good.  I noticed a little pain after taking my shoes off, but nothing major.  Certainly no worse than before.  I think I am going to still make an appointment with my sports doc.

fattyfatfat - 2010-02-17 8:55 AM suzy.  i hope you're on a flight back over to the big island to catch this tt IF it goes down.

I know, it is semi killing me that such an event is taking place and we are in Kauai! Dang.  And to top it off Jason Patrick Lester (attempting 5 IMs in 5 days, Ultraman finisher) was in Kauai, but left Monday!  I can't catch a break! Oh well, I guess I will have to slam another Lava flow and go to the beach.

We basically spent the day getting to Kauai, had a quiet dinner at the condo with Paul's parents (his mom has Parkinson's and is really slowing down) before spending the night watching the Olys.  Foot hurt which my PT says is the normal flow of such a malady, but it is wearing thin.  I am backing off the running even though he did not recommend it AND nearly 100% certain now that you will be doing Lonestar without me.  It would take a small miracle to make me feel comfortable that I won't damage the foot.  I just can't risk it.  Hopefully there will be other opportunities to get together.

Not sure what the day holds since the rest of the family is still sleeping. Make it a good one!

PS in the Chi-Chi vs Lava Flow drink off....the Lava Flow (at least when made at Brennecke's) wins hands down! Sorry Birdy.

Not saying I told you so or anything, Birdy but YOU were the one trying to play the BS card...K, maybe I am just saying!

Sorry Suzy that you won't be doing Lonestar but I have to agree that the risk isn't worth it!

I took a look at my training schedule as per coach, got a huge discount, for 15 weeks coaching, especially with the schedule issues that I've been having. No one-on-one type of thing or anything intensive like VO2 max, stroke teaching, technique fine tuning type of thing.  Just support and help me get the training in and endurance as I can't seem to solve that issue.  WHOA baby..lots of bricks! :-) Well, technically, I probably will do one in early morning, then another in the late afternoon, out just put the two together.

Way more than I expected, so I trust the coach! I think I have a good base to start off of, and it's not as much longer in distance as the stuff I've been doing, just more volume, and I am SO EXCITED to be rockin' it!  (Suzy - Is that positive enough? Can you feel my excitement through my words all the way to Hawaii?! Laughing )

I'm not Suzy, but I'm totally feeling it.

Suzy - Sucks that you won't be at Lonestar

Andy - Good luck at your du!

Thanks to everyone for the support. You have no idea how much it means to me to know I can come here and get some positive vibes Although I'm not up to running 3.2 miles in my training yet, it will be nice to get out there and see what my adrenaline can do for me....who knows? I may be able to run the entire length without walking?? I guess I'll find out.

Don't know if this has been posted yet, but looks like Lance took the TT title over Lieto 18:50 to 18:35.

I had a shotty 3.5 miler this morning.  My legs just felt like crap...don't know why.  Was planning on a 5 miler and cut it short...Sux.  Feels like my ITB on the side of my thigh now getting tight.  I'll have to roll the hell out of it for the next few days.

Yahoo! We both will warm up to 5k soon!!

I guess I needed some inspiration by reading my own post. I felt a twang of defeat, although it's gone now, from the lousy swim I did today. Onward to another day!! :-)

No race for me, but oh yeah, here's my *NEW* training plan:

Friday - Run 30 min using "Galloway Method"
Saturday - Long ride - 60 min, Run - 20 min easy
Sunday - Long run - 45 min, Recovery swim (concentrate more on technique/form than distance, no distance set, just do what I feel).
Monday - Bike, Swim

Oh yeah...Bricks - bring it on.  Although the bike and run isn't really a brick...it's going to be separated by several hours, so I don't think that counts as a brick, but the Sunday one will be a brick, separated by 30 to 40 min (does that still count as a brick, even though it's not bike --> run?)

Oh yeah man...Bring it on. :-X I'll be eating my words soon...at least until rest day, next Friday. :-D
