I am still on my high! I just ran my first 8 miles this morning I said I wasn't racing but ended up pushing it and finishing strong!  I only walked through the drink stations except the last one! I am now hooked on distant running!!! Oh noooo! What fun.

Just ack from my long run of the week.  Went out before I thought the humidity would choke me.  Turned out to be a nice run once I got into it.  I miss those nice runs so it was welcome...

Got my brick workout out of the way early this morning even though I got paged at 1:00 this morning and had to be on a conference call until 3:15.  I felt sluggish because of the humidity and lack of sleep but at least it's done.

Time to get an hour of zzzzzz's now...

Nice JOB!  Running long can be habit forming, not to mention fun, when you find that groove you feel like you can run forever.

June Challenge Team Standings - Week #1

Can you believe that June is already 23% finished? Here's how the teams stack up after the first week:

FIRST PLACE - Avatar Avengers 21.1%
SECOND PLACE - Kamikaze Geckos 18.6%
THIRD PLACE - Cheesecake Lovers 16.6%
FOURTH PLACE - Totally Nutty Triathletes (TNT) 14.6%

Congratulations to the Avatar Avengers!

BUT this is only the FIRST week of the month! So remember - if you don't MOVE IT this month, your team is likely to LOSE IT!

Need a reminder of what happens at the end of June?

The winning team(s) will display a signature line: "My team won the June Challenge!"

All other (losing) teams will display an avatar of something that SHOULD have made them move more!
This could be your shoes (ie: you should have run more), or your bike (ie: you should have biked more), or your bathing suit (ie: you should have swam more), or.... etc.

Avatars and signature lines will be displayed for the month of July. After that, it's your choice whether to leave it, or remove it.

- Dee

Nice workouts, everyone! And keep up the good work - 2nd place is a fine place to be!

I got a bike ride in on the stationary at the gym...didn't beat the heat and wasn't going to go out in it again today. Stay safe & stay hydrated. Unless you live where it's nice and pleasant. Then I'm jealous.

Did a 30 min strength training session today. Only did upper body, since the knee is still "tweaky." But I'm still planning on doing a "wog" tomorrow.

Hey Dee, hope you don't mind, but I modified the spreadsheet so that everyone's names are fixed on the left.  Makes it a little easier when scrolling all the way to the right.  I can change it back if you want.

Morning, team.

Slept in this morning (instead of heading out for a run). Much needed.

Today will either be a swim only or I may crack a couple of miles on the treadmill before I jump in the pool...depends on how productive the rest of my day is.

I got in a 10 mile run late yesterday evening. It was so hot in the beginning I felt like I might melt. My shoulder is getting better from my MTN bike mishap last week, but swimming is painful. I tried to swim on Saturday evening and gave up at 100 yards b/c of the pain. I'm going light on swimming this week since I have a race this weekend. Hopefully, it comes around.

Got my 30 min run in...just a bit over 2 miles.  It is MUGGY out there...you'd think with all the rain we've had it wouldn't be, but noooooooo.  I feel like a limp noodle.  I need new shoes, too.  My knees are yelling at me.

Heading to the local gym tonight to join so I have some place to swim when OWS isn't gonna happen.

That's fine.

The way I have my settings, I don't need to scroll to see all the info. But yes, I can see that others would need to do that.

Hello Geckos.  I am planning a schwimmy this afternoon.  It will be in a pool as opposed to all the standing water we have around here.  Hopefully the roads that lead to the Y aren't closed.  I saw about 5 minutes of sun this morning and now it is gone  I really need to get the grass cut.  It is above my ankles already.
