I took Dixie for a 90 min run/walk today and she is still not tired (but I am). Guess I'm going to have to try the bike tomorrow. Dixie is our newest foster dog. She is a 1 year old Boxer/Bulldog mix.

its FRIDAY and still peachy

so far....

need to do something today, kids are off school, FRIGID temps here in Western PA.  was scheduled to do a run, but probably wont make it to the Y, so ill have to 'cook up' an alternative plan....

as for Thurs./yesturday

15 mins on the trainer, just cuz.  i had a new iPod playlist i wanted to spin to.

60 min swim class/workout at the Y.  this is was the first class of the new cycle.  caught the 'eye' of the coach.  got some nice compliments.  consistency and persistence has its rewards.

got a GREAT headstart w the Beginner Swim Program that i downloaded from this site (in case you were looking for a plan to use....)

heading into the weekend, planning on being PEACHY.  2 hr spintacular on Sat.  & a 32 min run (i may do the run as a 'brick' after the spin....)

GO STEELERS!

Do you have any wind with these temps?

Can you (and anybody else on here) give me specifics on how to dress for outside exercise in this season? I'm sick of being indoors, but don't feel capable of going out...I know, WIMP, right?!!!?

Today we're gonna actually get above freezing! We've been in a deep freeze with windchills at -40 for what seems like weeks already.

Anyway, I'm 15 for 15 and looking forward to playing outside today!

Still peachy with 16/16.  I got last night's peach with a 2-1/2 mile walk with Chuck and he said that it was so short that he thought I should only get an apricot.  Ha ha ha.

Stay peachy and have fun this weekend.  I get Monday as a holiday and am taking today off and heading to Northern California to see my grandbabies.  Hurrah!

There was a slight windchill, about -35. I don't think you would want to go out in that kind of temp though.

I usually wear a gortex running suit, when it is in the single digits or below I wear another pair of running pants under my suit. Under my jacket I have a turtle neck and a sweatshirt for when it is below zero. I have running mittens, they work better than gloves when it is very cold. I have a polypropylene socks  & face mask when it is very cold (like this morning).

stayed peachy in spite of frigid temperatures (the sky is the most spectacular shade of blue, though.  unusual this time of year, in these parts....)

on my original schedule, 32 min run and ST.

instead.

did a modified 10 min ST routine, all the exercises i could do that didnt utilize a machine at the Y.

10 min ab work using Denise Austins Fast Belly Fat-Blasters DVD.

10 mins on the indoor trainer, wanted to listen to my 'fun bike' playlist again.

will finish up the ST tomorrow after my 2 hr spin.  and do the run on sunday.

Wow! Still doesn't sound warm enough to me!!!

Face mask - does it cover your nose or are you breathing that cold air in directly? I sometimes wear a balaclava...it bugs me to breathe through it, but it bothers me to breathe the cold air! Do I just need to get over it?!!!
