Master 1553 Elm Grove | Subject: RE: IM Wisconsin Watching Thread Thanks for watching us guys and for cheering us on. From what I heard through the grapevine, djdavey sorta blacked out on the bike and woke up to some lady trying to wake him up in the ditch and spent some time in the medtent. Seems to be ok now, but I am sure we will get some news from him. Thanks again. |

Champion 19812 MA | Subject: RE: IM Wisconsin Watching Thread Congrats everyone! I look forward to hearing more about everyone's day with notes in blogs and race reports when you get to them. Seems quite a few BTers didn't finish I'm sure for many different reasons. I hope you all find peace about what happened that made your day not go as planned. We are proud of your efforts regardless of the outcome. Toeing the line, being well trained and ready to face the day is a huge accomplishment. I watched much of the evening but with the audio not always working on the site and not knowing everyone's full names I'm sure I saw many of you finish but didn't know you were you. Great job! Iron Donkey 38643 , Wisconsin | Subject: RE: IM Wisconsin Watching Thread Good morning, everyone! I just read this whole tracking thread, and, it makes one feel real great to have you BTers out there online yesterday (with nothing better to do ) and tracking those friends of yours and sending us some great energy! It was a pretty hot day out there, which made it brutal at times for some us. I saw DJDavey when I came around on my first loop of the run - he was standing and looked somewhat okay. He was having some physical issues and pulled over on the bike to rest some, then tried to take off after the rest and swerved right and then left and fell off the bike and crashed. He did blackout, and a lady found him sometime later on the side of the road. He lost a lot of weight, too, from dehydration and such. He was hauled off, but is doing a lot better now. Mndiver dropped a lot of weight and didn't do too well. Birkierunner had physical issues, too, and had to DNF. Jszat, Schmize, Tripletmom, and I were a little under the weather, too. I forgot my prescription sunglasses off the table after the swim, but some very kind volunteer hauled azz down to get them (from inside the Terrace, down the Helix, to swim area, and back up the helix, then went to the bike - that's almost 300 yards at least to run), which is why I had a looooooong T1. If I would've remembered to grab my glasses, I would have shaved off almost 8 min. Then, sometime on the bike course, probably around mile 80 or so, I had gastro-intestinal issues, which tacked on another 30 min. on the bike time due to stopping at all the port-a-potties. It wasn't a great feeling. I saw all the BTers that I knew, and just had fun with all that was around - I even danced to SuperFreak outside Camp Randall with some partiers, then danced with the Ford Ironman girls by the mile 10 timing mat, and whooped it up with the crowd on State Street. It was a blast! I did catch Amyjo, Kristin, and Whizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz with about 4 miles or so to go. They were still in terrific spirits. One of the best things was sprinting the final stretch, to be greeted with a finisher's medal by the one and only Trixie! Thank you, everybody, for keeping us in your thoughts! And, with a final parting, I send you off with an EEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWW!!!! |

Extreme Veteran 572 | Subject: RE: IM Wisconsin Watching Thread You guys aren't going to believe this but I just logged on to the race report section and not a single IMWI race report has been filed. I can't believe that they would have gone to bed last night without filing a race report. Come on athletes, it's 8am there. Quit being so lazy and give us our race reports!!! |

New user 43 | Subject: RE: IM Wisconsin Watching Thread Someone had to be the last BT finisher, and it might as well have been me. First timer, seizing up the entire second bike leg and had to walk it up like 8 hills when I wasn't collapsed and trying to stretch, two people had to physically carry me into T2 because my legs wouldn't bend, all the docs were freaking out because of the amount of salt caked onto my jersey and body, walked about 90% of the marathon, learned to love chicken broth, and maintained about 15 minute miles throughout in order to make the cutoff. I absolutely cannot believe that I finished. At about mile 70 of the bike I would have put my odds at like 1000 to 1. |

He was off his bike when he did it. He felt it coming on before hand. I saw him last night at about 10:30, and he was heading to the hotel to go to sleep - still not feeling great, but making some typical Davey comments, so I'm pretty sure he was okay. |

Wow, I wonder if you were one of the 2 guys I saw walking down Henry street, holding their hamstrings and trying to stretch about every other step.... |
