I'm thinking of getting the book and would like to get a) your thoughts on the book in general and b) opinions on whether it would be a good e-book or if I should get a "real" copy. (Maybe Sheila and Don can get me through Oceanside?) ETA: I just noticed he focuses on IM distance. Does he even have a HIM plan? What I like about the book is it has three types of IM plans - Just to Finish, Intermediate and Competitive. In there he includes a HIM race as part of training (about 10 weeks out from IM) so being that I have a HIM in 20 weeks I just worked back from there 20 weeks and jumped in. I chose Intermdiate as the hours look like what I can handle - I have it on a spreadsheet and side by side I do a comparison of the BT Beginner HIM plan - so for week 20 (first week) i noticed that BT plan had 15mins more bike but 50min less Run. i would prefer that the other way around so I've kind of adapted it this week to suit me. The BT Beginner HIM plan is awesome - it will certainly get you through - only thing I would say is increase the bike a bit as I felt a bit light on that (especially being my weakest thing)
Good to know thanx! I was kinda thinking I would start the BT plan once I have my next OLY "under my belt". I don't think the timing works out perfectly but maybe a week or two of recovery would be good. My feeling on the BT HIM plan is that it is swim-heavy and bike-light as well. Be Iron Fit is a super training book to have no matter what distance you're training for. Many folks have used the plans to train for a HIM (as Jo mentioned) and that comes at week 22. It'll give you a hell of a base. If you use the Just Finish plan, you'll need to beef up the swimming, though. |

Bad: my quads are still somewhat angry and sore... Good: My bike is all snazzy and fixed up (i.e. ready to be ridden at a breakneck pace---yet still as comfy as can be), and ready to be picked up!\ Bad: I don't have enough money to pick it up until tomorrow! Blah. It seems like a good night to sit in the living room and play "Plants vs. Zombies" on the computer. For those who don't know, this is an absolutely fun and terribly addicting computer game in which your house is being attacked by zombies (in this game they're not even gory, but kinda cute!), you retaliate and kill them (hopefully) by "planting" an army of attacking plants--from "pea shooters" to "corn cob catapults" Way to much fun, and an easy way to pass time when you want to escape from the world! Aw! Sucksucksucks. Hey, if you like zombie stuff, I've heard that this is good Zombies, Run! |

Breathtaking! Especially the perspective from #6. That one was taken at the top. The cool thing about this trail is you can hike up to the tram station and take the tram down. It is the longest tram in the world. I like to hike up the trail and back down but I didn't think my son was ready for that so we took the tram down. Thanks for the info about the "Be Iron Fit" book. I think I will order a hard copy of that and do a hybrid as others are saying. I'm going to start focusing on my Sheila book again, maybe she can even help me before my next OLY... |

Does it say to keep a minimum 25 mile radius from West Seattle the night before a race by chance? Can you guess who lives there? |
