They’d sleep ‘til 11:00, and just hang out with their friends? I mean, they had no occupations, whatsoever… maybe working a couple hours a week at a coffee shop? Hmmm ... Compression socks, eh? Yes. For recovery. That's why I'm in that funny position, too. Although admittedly I'm sure that position could be multipurpose. Oh come on. The '80s NEVER went out. And never will. NEVER. Well, that's what I keep telling people but they just won't believe me! Apparently it opened for entries on 17th Oct and has already sold out!!!! 1100 places gone in a week. Gutted doesn't come close, this was to be my 'A' race for 2013.. So So sorry. On the bright side, i am a little heavy to carry for 7 miles so maybe it's for the best. . Let us know the dates when you have them and i'll look for something else that perhaps we can do. |

Pennsylvania | Subject: RE: Yanti & Salty Beyond Ridiculous Manatees PART 6--CLOSED OK, while compiling a 'wish list' of races for next year, I stumbled across a dilemma. The first tri I've ever done is one I have continued to do each year (3 yrs total) so I can see improvement and challenge myself to beat my old time. Plus it's local and lots of other good factors. The dilemma: Escape From Fort Delaware Olympic distance race is the next day, and I really wanted to do this race as well. Travel-wise it is not an issue; DE is only about a 2 hour drive. The issue is I'm a little concerned abut doing an Olympic right on the heels of a sprint. Plus the EFFD swim is described as 'challenging' (swim starts off a ferry and racers must swim in the Delaware River to get back to land - kind of a choppy area). Part of me wants to go for it, another part of me is a bit hesitant. The sprint would be the 'A' race out of the two. Manatee thoughts? |

Part of me wants to go for it, another part of me is a bit hesitant. The sprint would be the 'A' race out of the two. Manatee thoughts? Well, I think it all depends on what you want out of the EFFD race. I think it's perfectly fine if you just want to experience it. You'll make it through in one piece blah blah blah. But I will say, for me I really don't like going into a race knowing I'm unable to give it everything and really know that I left it out there. At that point the race only tells how well you could do the day after an "A" race caliber sprint tri, not anything else, ya know? If none of that is an issue I say go for it. |
