I think I'm ready to move to Alaska.  Yesterday it was 41* (fahrenheit) in Anchorage and 6* here.  This morning, it was -7* when I left for work.  Today's high is projected to be 19*, tomorrow up to the 30's (heat wave!), then cold and snow again on Sat.  On Monday, the temp dropped 30-40 degrees in a matter of hours.  Anybody else having this lovely weather?!

75* here right now, will top out at 80* and then hit 59* over night.  Brrrr.

hehehe...we're in this camp. It's perfect for us right now. Mid 70s and partly cloudy for the race will be awesome for hiking kids around.

I'm headed to Omaha this weekend. Really not looking forward to the cold there!!!!!!!!!!!! At least here we don't have the humidity to make it worse! There are reasons we left Omaha!

ETA: It did give me an excuse to buy a new pair of boots

Can you race in them? If not...

For my race tomorrow, the forecast is upper 20's, 10 mph wind, and snow.  I'm thinking I'll just grab my pie and leave.  I feel bad for the expo folks, though.  They're probably not going to get much interest.

^^^^Funny how that happens. And I can't remember the last pair of non-running related shoes I bought. Hmmm...

J got a pair of Hoka Cliftons a couple of weeks ago. Will be interesting to see what he says about them after Sunday. They are sooooo light compared to how they look, and the sole doesn't look as high as the others I've tried on.

No question about it.  It's my first 10k ever and I have every intention of doing it.  It's conveniently close to home too so I can get out of my wet clothes and into a hot shower right away.  If I can run when it's 9*, snowing and dark like I did on Tuesday, I can totally do this.  Plus there's pie whipped cream.  How could I not?

My race forecast is 60*s to start and 70*s to finish.  That's gorgeous weather, but not perfect racing weather.  50*s would be ideal.  Oh well, it's way better than it could be!

Ouch!  I'm bringing my Yak Trax and checking out conditions beforehand.  I've got enough aches and pains; I don't need a broken tailbone too.

I know they won't be in the afternoon, that's why we have a place to go to relax and swim. They're good for 2-2.5hrs at a time. I risk my sanity pushing for too much more.
