I just could not do it. I'm skeeered to try again. Glad it was a hit for you! And yay for the Roctane, too!! WOOT!
if this helps and what I read was eat some toast or a cup of coffee to help draw the blood to the stomach which help reduce the inflammation. Once I get in I start my watch for 10to 15min it usually takes about 3min to get somewhat acclimated after that don't move so you won't have to start acclimating yourself again. |

Expert 1797 CHARLOTTESVILLE, Virginia | Subject: RE: swbkrun with us!!! - Closed Great job Linda and Julia! Super speedy. Congrats Trevor on a super effort. Ice bathes rock but they are hard to sit in. After my last marathon, I sat in cold water first then had Tony add ice to the water. That seemed to make it easier to adjust. Plus I almost always leave some sort of top on. Seems to help mentally. But I felt like a new person after my ice bath. |

I have one of these lights, but haven't installed it yet (lame). I should have two since I end up riding both bikes outside -- that's why I haven't installed it, ha. I'll say it again: Lame. Oh, and Suzy, company is based in Madison (PlanetBike)!
X2 This is what I use, and it it installed Compared to other lights in the group, it is one of the brightest for the money. Also, you get a little side action going, as the red part wraps around a little. |

Champion 7163 Verona WI--Ironman Bike Country! | Subject: RE: swbkrun with us!!! - Closed Thanks for all the light advice. I'm struggling a bit with where I can put it with a front mount bottle, almost no seat post, and my little saddle bag in the back. Think I'll give Julia's recommendation a whirl since I can attach it to my clothes. For me, I throw in a bucket full of ice from the freezer and add it slowly like Sam. Also wear a shirt and drink some warm water or tea. Do them after really hard workouts, not just long runs if I have the time. I admit it. I like the look of shaved guys ALOT, especially the chest area..... PS NO HAIRY FEET. EEEEEEEEEEEEW! Massive storm last night...... |

Champion 9060 Charlottesville, Virginia | Subject: RE: swbkrun with us!!! - Closed LOL, I told you Suzy it's time to move. And seriously Bryce there are few really legitimate reasons to shave legs, besides being pro and looking good. It's supposed to make it much easier to deal with road rash. Which is supposed to be common in bike racing. They said buying Tagaderm which is something you use to treat road rash was more important than buying the team kit. It also makes massage easier. Both road rash and massage are fairly common in pro bike racing which is why they do it. The rest of us just like to pretend we're pro : ) Other than that there are no real reasons, i've seen people say it's easier to get a wetsuit on/off easier with no hair on you legs but I haven't really noticed a difference. |

Elite 3395 Raleigh | Subject: RE: swbkrun with us!!! - Closed I am very happy with the progress of my training lately. I did my big weekly ride yesterday and did 59.23 miles in 2:50:18 at an avergae speed of 20.87. That is my fastest average to date. I also negative split it as I was 20.64 for the first hour, and 20.59 for 1.5 hours. That works out to an average of 21.17 for the last 28.34 miles. I need to be fast on the bike as I am slow on my feet! I am so envious of your runners. I did do my longest run since Augusta at 7.29 miles on saturday. The cool thing is I feel hardly any soreness. Luckily my A race isn't until October! Looking over the MG member's logs I am amazed how you get such terrific run mileage. Finally as to ice baths, I need to them more, but the only way I could stand it was to slowly add the ice after I get in the bath. Doug Edited by DougRob 2011-04-04 8:14 AM |

Yeah I read about that on ST, It funny reading the range of responses that news got. Being a bike nerd, I knew I was seeing something amazing in his 7 wins. What I am most amazed with, and which is noit discussed much, is his run of luck. It takes a LOT of luck to win just once, but 7 in a row is astounding. The pounding their bodies take over the course of the TdF is incredible. While it is an unfair compariso as they are not endurance sports, I doubt most athletes inBaseball, basket ball, football, or hockey are anywhere near as fit as a pro cyclist. |

Glad I got my bike ride in first thing in the morning even though I was freezing. We had snow, freezing rain and then this stuff as well... It was a bit smaller but not much 1.5 inches. I was about to stand in my yard half naked and scream and yell at the top of my lungs. Kudos to those in our local running group 6 brave soles decided they were not going to let Mother nature stand in their way and they went and ran 5 miles in that crap.. Me..... I went and ate Chinese with the family. Prob not the better option but oh well... HAHA |
