I've checked my list twice. I'm all packed and ready to leave in the morning. I almost forgot to pack my running shoes.

My stomach is feeling better and my headaches are gone. I think I'm ready. I'm #741.

Tiana

Since you are feeling better that must mean tapering is coming to an end and you are ready to crush it...

Happy Halloween!  My suggestion; put your costumes on and chow down on your favorite candy as fuel for the start line this weekend.  Who's up for the challenge?

And what is your favorite candy? or do you totally bypass it on this holiday?

Kids have all gone to bed after trick or treating; just finished a bounty, snickers and 4 slices of crunchy! All good fuel for this weekend...!

Hi gang - greeting from the wet but fortunately ok Mid-Atlantic.  I really feel for those folks further up north starting in NJ.  We had A LOT of rain and some scary wind but everything stayed where it was supposed to.  I'm very happy to see a ray of sunshine this morning.  It has seemed like night for the past 3 days.

No racing for me this weekend but I will do plenty of fueling.  ;-

The problem for me is that I should name what Halloween candy I don't like!  That said a couple of favorites that pop into my mind are: Reese's PB cups, Twix, Kit-Kat and Mounds.

Happy trick or treating!  Stay safe.

Peanut butter M&Ms, hands down. I'm pulling all the little red packets out of the mix. Sorry, trick-or-treaters!

No racing for me. I get to be a swim mom and hang out at my daughter's first meet of the season. That means lots of time to track our IM team and my local buddies running the Monumental Marathon! Woohoo!

Happy racing, everyone!

No racing for me, just volunteering ;-)  I'll be in the women's changing tent at T1 this Saturday morning. Those of you who have done an IM. What should I expect? What exactly happens in there?

Butterfinger, Reese's Cups, Peanut butter M&Ms....Basically, anything with chocolate and/or peanut butter.  mmmmmm

Happy Halloween! I'm bypassing the candy this Halloween, but I did make some cashew butter, coconut, and agave popcorn balls last night that are super yummy. First thing I thought once they were done was what a great race/long training fuel they'd be, lol.

Good luck to all our racing peeps! Especially, Tiana, Linda, and John (did I miss anyone?) toeing the line at IMFL! You all ROCK!!! Can't wait to hear about it and track you all!

Quick check-in.  Spending most of my time at my Dad's right now.  Easier to read than to post, so I've been keeping up, kinda.  Wanted to pop in with a shout-out to the FLA racers - have a blast!!!!  Hope to be able to track, but if I can't, I'll be checking in.  I have faith in all 3 of you - go out and put all of that training to good use, and enjoy your celebration!

We have a long driveway so NO ONE comes to trick or treat at our house.  Consequently we have no candy to sample.  My all time favorite candy bar is Take 5.  I love salt and sweet all in one unit.

I am readying myself for another 10K this weekend.  It won't be a PR based on the hilly course so  my goal is to beat last year's time and keep up a steady level of pain and torture from beginning to end.

No racing here.   Reese's PB cups were my favorite, but I haven't had one in years.  There are no trick or treaters going door to door here in Japan.   I think some of the international type schools do costumes and candy and you can probably find some costumes out on the bar scene.

Glad to hear that those of you on the east coast fared okay during the storm

Best of luck to you everyone racing this weekend and especially those IMFL peeps.

New Yorkers still going ahead with marathon.... They don't mess around. Not a fan of the idea personally. Focus on the 6 million without power and getting the subways back up and running.Going to be interesting. Either going to be a huge success or a really bad idea!

Speaking of NYC, okay well, I thought it was a nice segway....this article re:race photos was funny...Kyla, your cutie Nathan Adrian is mentioned on page 2. I missed that photo! Just signed up for Vineman 70.3, sold out in 3 hours last year. C'mon, hey Trevor, Michelle and the girls would love the Russian River! Sorry for the run on, too lazy to format. Happy Thursday, peeps! Eta the NY Times article! Silly me. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/11/01/fashion/marathon-photos-often-fai...

For the 8th year in a row we got ZERO trick or treaters! I used to buy candy but now I don't even bother. I don't think kids trick-or-treat in the city to residences. I see kids dressed up, but they mostly stick to the main streets and trick-or-treat at businesses.

Christina, glad your family is OK! My company has an office in Hoboken and we still haven't heard from everyone there.

GOOD LUCK IMers!

Yeah, I'm torn on this one. But I lean toward saying bad idea. I'd rather see all of those runners spend 2-4 hours doing something to benefit the city and help people recover from the tragedy. Deliver food and water, clean up debris, whatever. I feel like it's selfish to run the race.

That said, all of the lottery runners who run are people who won't compete for spaces over the next few years. I've put this on my bucket list and intend to start trying to enter next year, so clear out some backlog for me! Ha!!

My amazing hubby got me into Vineman!!   It closed in less than 30 minutes, and the wait list was full before noon.  850 waitlisters!  Wow.

My vote would be no for the marathon, really a tough call.  Of course, I SHOULD have voted no on Boston, and didn't...!

I think the organization is damned either way.  There will be people like Birdy and those that think it's stupid to cancel it.  If I had signed up, I would be deferring. To me it has a high hassle factor to begin with being shipped to Staten Island and hanging around for hours to start the event.  Add the transportation issues from Sandy and it's off the charts.
