2goggs better be typing up that story...

tying up who?

wingman awesomeness? story?

you're not just gonna leave us hanging are you?

maybe you are still drunk

Oh yeah. So Cliff's Notes because the market's about to open:
Went to Ceres at the Board of Trade where they give you a full 12-ounce glass of whatever liquor you order and a can of whatever mixer you want. For $6. Which is INSANE cheapness in the city and a LOT of alcohol. So after two of those we were sufficiently drunk. Ended up at our neighborhood bar where we played pool with womensfolk -- Wingman Action in full effect, y'all.

So we play pool for awhile then a couple other guys come up and start talking to the ladies so we just played pool. They dissed the other fellas to hang with us so I knew it was all good. I proceeded to talk up my friend all night. About how he's a great person and great friend and is very successful but very shy and so on and so forth.

So then we ended up at yet another bar with the ladies, the whole time talking about what a great guy he is and so on and so forth and doing a little `divide and conquer' and `close talk' action to get him and one of the ladies a bit closer.

Needless to say it worked. I am the KING OF WINGMANLAND!

Dude, she's not going. If I let her go I swear on my honor in front of all those who may see this TAN, including the lurkers (Yeah, I know you're out there), that I will get "World's biggest Wuss" tattooed across my back and "Yep, you're an f-ing idiot" tattooed backwards across my forehead so that I have to read it every time I look in the mirror.

Get the ink warmed up, folks.

I'll even chip in for it

I will drive to Davenport to watch. However, I'm kind of thinking she won't show. And what is wrong with a long ride at 13? At least some of us take the time to train? (Sprint this was clearly not directed at you, but the little dbag who thinks he's something special 'cause he can pull 1/2 irons out of his butt. Whatever.)

Who pulled a half an iron out of his butt??? Because THAT would be nasty!

Says the drunk man with the itchies.

I musta missed something...

Yeah, it's kind of a long story about a different situation, that resulted in similar advice.

Ah, I see.

So I'm confused. Is Ryan the dbag to whom you were referring? Or me? Or neither of us? Or both of us? I'm lost.

When was the last time Ryan did a long ride? There is the answer to your question.

Lof,

A proud 13 long rider (seriously though it's more around 14, but still).

Why am I so confused?

..and I rode 40 some miles like 2 weeks ago!!

Motorcycles and riding along in the trailer while mommy pedals don't count.

Ahhh ... I don't think I said there was anything WRONG with riding 13, it's just too slow for our man Sprint on his long ride.

And I figure why train when the half ironmans and marathons are so easy anyway?

Not dbaggery ... it's TROOF!

Edit: Plus, I train. Not enough to make me super fast or anything, but I figure what the heck, I'm all about the experience and crossing the finish line

Eeeeeaaaaassssssy, now. I may be a lot of things, but I'm not a liar.

I was just kidding.  Didn't mean to spill the kitten's milk.  Seriously though have you considered actually doing triathlons, you could probably finish MOP and pick up some tri chicks in the process?

I will drive to Davenport to watch. However, I'm kind of thinking she won't show. And what is wrong with a long ride at 13? At least some of us take the time to train? I know it wasn't directed at me but I'll say this: I have no problem riding at 13 miles per. But when I'm working on training for my Sprints where I hope to be breaking 20 one of these days and the Oly I'm still considering, riding slow 2x a week isn't going to help me as much as riding to my potential 2x a week and going out for a fun relaxing ride 1x/week.

No, I agree.  And when it comes to your training I would give you the same advice you gave me, but I don't think you need it, 'cause your doing what you need to do.  I guess my point was that some of us slow pokes actually ride a long ride at 13,14,15 'cause that's where our current level of potential/fitness is.  But I suppose that confusion should be expected when we try to TAN and TAS at the same time.

Anyone see "Time Bandits" from about 25 years ago?  I like that movie.....

I'm thinking of switching my blog title to "Time Bandit"

You know, it can kind of apply, I'm trying to steal time from races - or something like that....

I don't think that I've seen it.  But then again I was about 3 or 4 when it came out.  Is it worth watching?
